Dar?ber hinaus soll auch eine Reihe weiterer Sprachen in die Untersuchung einbezogen werden, um Aufschlu? dar?ber zu erhalten, ob gewisse Metaphernmuster sprachliche Universalien sind oder ob sie von einem be-stimmten soziokulturellen Umfeld der betreffenden Sprachgemeinschaft abh?ngen. Ausgangspunkt der Untersuchung ist die Feststellung von Lakoff (1987), da? im amerikanischen Englisch Aggression und Liebe auffallend ?hnlich metaphorisiert werden. Lakoff h?lt dies f?r ein typisch amerikanisches Ph?nomen und sieht einen kausalen Zusammenhang zwischen aggressiver Liebesmetaphorik und sexueller Gewalt in den USA. Diese Hypothese Lakoffs wirft die Frage nach der Kausalit?t zwischen Sprache, Denken, Verhalten, Kultur und Biologie auf. Da? Sprache und Denken einer Wechselwirkung unterliegen, scheint seit Sapir und Whorf mehr oder weniger akzeptiert zu werden, auch wenn - wie beispielsweise zwischen Lakoff und Lyons - Unterschiede in der Exegese der Sapir-Whorf-Hypothese zu Tage treten. Strittig ist allerdings die Frage nach der Gewichtung von soziokulturellen und genetischen Einfl?ssen auf Sprache und Denken. Anhand von Lyons soll die Meinung exemplifiziert werden, da? der Kultur hierbei die weitaus gr??ere Bedeutung beizumessen sei, w?hrend biologische Faktoren in den Hintergrund zu treten h?tten. Die Metaphorisierung von Liebe h?lt auch Lakoff f?r kulturell bedingt, er ist aber der Auffassung, da? die Art und Weise, wie Liebe metaphorisiert wird, auch umgekehrt das Verhalten der Sprecher beeinflussen und somit deren Kultur mitpr?gen k?nne. Ein Vergleich der Metaphorisierung von Aggression und Liebe im Englischen, Deutschen und einigen anderen Sprachen kann zur Kl?rung des Kausalit?tsproblems beitragen. Our model of personality reposes on three genetic traits: sanguinity (N), perfectionism (P) and aggression (A). The "complementary genes" for traits N and A are entangled: if one of the traits is absent, then the other must be present. This entanglement is the cause of infertility in certain combinations of NPA types. We examined hypothetical case-control studies with the use of Hardy-Weinberg methodology. Six different case-control studies were replicated in seven different representative populations. The computed results of each case-control study were highly dependent on the genetic composition of the representative population. When the condition present in the “case group” was genetically related to either trait N or A, there was a reciprocal difference induced in the other trait due to their entanglement, leading to possible confusion in interpretation of the results. The Foundation's main concerns with drug-behaviour-environment interactions, but because it is difficult to consider these interactions in isolation from general behavioural phenomena, the symposium was arranged around topics that are not specific to drug effects. This book contains those contributions to the symposium that focused on phenomena associated with schedules of reinforcement. Most of the papers have been extensively revised for the purpose of this publication.＜/p＞＜p＞Three kinds of schedule effect are examined in the book. Schedule dependent phenomena arise when the effect on behaviour of an operation, such as the administration of a drug, depends on the schedule of reinforcement maintaining the behaviour. Two aspects of these phenomena are treated in detail by J.W. McKearney, who emphasizes drug effects, and by D.E. Blackman, who concentrates on the intrusion of stimuli that signal electric shock. A second kind of schedule effect is discussed by T. Thompson and R. Pickens, who show that reinforcing drugs are subject to scheduling variables, in common with other reinforcements.＜/p＞＜p＞The remaining chapters focus on schedule-induced phenomena, although other schedule effects are also considered. Behaviour is schedule-induced when it occurs as the result of the application of a reinforcement schedule to other behaviour without being specified in that schedule. J.D. In recent years, however, China's increasing aggression in the South China Sea may have put pressure on Vietnam to balance against China. By using a hedging spectrum between balancing and bandwagoning, this thesis seeks to understand Vietnam's hedging behavior in response to China's aggression and the possible reasons for that degree of change. It examines how Vietnam continues to pursue contradictory hedging behaviors to address Hanoi' s low-intensity balancing policies toward China while providing a closer engagement and solidarity with Beijing. This thesis found that Vietnam's hedging behavior has shifted toward the balancing end of the hedging spectrum. In addition, Vietnam continues to put greater emphasis on indirect-balancing and dominance-denial policies, which also signify a degree of power rejection vis-a-vis China.＜/p＞＜p＞This thesis offers two distinct explanations for Vietnam's current trend toward the balancing behavior.
