Jesus's Crucifixion Hurricane: the mighty rushing wind of the latter rain, being the shockwave begun at the Last Supper.【電子書籍】[ Joseph Edward Bonnette ]

This ebook contains in it an explanation of how Jesus Christ was crucified, who is the Son of Adonai: who is Jehovah the Father & how this effected him who is God. As he was also crucified with his Son, receiving the wounds sin caused him while being the blood to clot the wounds of our sins. Though none of us lived at the time of the crucifixion, I cover how it all happened & is presently applicable. It begins mentioning my aspiring organisation, then the prayer I wrote on a business card. This is on the cover only, with an illustrated outline of the front of the shroud of Turin to show certain images on it. There is in the book a rundown of the basic images I discovered on this burial cloth, which are highly interesting to me, such as the police-like badge on his forehead, Michael the angel on the neck, the glorified Jesus on the chest, with a drumstick design as shown on the digital drawing on the left side of his chest over the heart area. Also, (on the backside) the image of God over the crown of thorns in a profile & also a full frontal view, then the image of the devil’s face at the end of the Rabbinic haircut of Jesus, then the devil’s face again in the lake of fire over the lower back of Jesus.

ーーー- I have in it a fully numbered copy of the REVELATION, showing KJV has 12,000 words, & how each word is separately numbered, also numbering the 404 verses, with some very interesting places to where these numbers land. Then I added Prayer for Christian Graces, with verse references to each prayer petition in it. This is from the book found in google books called “admonition to unconverted sinners,” in the “collection of family prayers,” by Joseph Alleine. Then I have following this “PRAYER FOR THE USA & ALL NATIONS,” after which I wrote a piece called “meaning of the U.S. flag & American eagle.”

I can’t pretend to explain much in this succinct preview, but this ebook basically covers chapters 1,2 & 3 of Revelation, which is highly packed with as many insights as I could manage to fit into it, while trying not to be redundant or overly detailed. One of the highlight areas I spent a lot of special effort on, is REVELATION 1:13-16, which I also coincided with my study of the glorified image of Jesus on the chest area of the shroud of Turin. After the 3rd chapter of Revelation, I go into what I call the “hem” or the “train that filled the temple,” ISAIAH6:1, which to me also represents the added prayers we must make to God before & after the reciting & studying of the Holy Bible. It begins with what I call the “AREA 51” of the Holy Bible, which is Psalm 51, or also called the KEY OF DAVID in Rev-3:7 & ISAIAH22:22.

ーーー-It then follows with PSALM 91, then PSALM 23, which are in a paraphrase/commentary format. PSALM 51 is my biggest area of personal expertise. The ebook ends with my instructions on how to take the Lord’s supper, (God Willing) with 2 or more agreeing Christians in “cell” groups. 1JOHN-3:14 tells us we are passed from death to life because we love the brethren, meaning all Christians & seekers of God.

I explain in the ebook how Jesus crucified is the true “big bang” which is now creating the new universe of the whole of creation, & “the restoring of the joy of our salvation," PSALM-51:12 which we had with God when we were chosen in Christ, EPH1:4, but cannot experience it unless we are born again. God makes all things new, & transforms us by the renewal of our minds, as well as creates all things through his word which is an ongoing rebirth like his mercies which are new every morning, LAM3:23, as we “come to revelations in Christ.” 2COR12:1.

A Young Folks' History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints【電子書籍】[ Nephi Anderson ]

According to Wikipedia: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often colloquially referred to as the Mormon Church, a term the organization itself discourages) is the largest denomination originating from the Latter Day Saint movement founded by Joseph Smith, Jr., on April 6, 1830. The church is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has established congregations (called wards or branches) worldwide. As of 2007, the church reported just over 13 million members on its rolls. Based on this number, it is the fourth largest Christian denomination in the United States. Adherentsーusually referred to as Latter-day Saints, LDS, or Mormonsーare restorationist Christians and are not a part of the Catholicism, Orthodox, or Protestant traditions. Like other Restorationist organizations, the LDS Church teaches that after the events described in the New Testament, there was a Great Apostasy, or "falling away" from the true Christian faith and priesthood. The church teaches that this true faith and priesthood were restored to Joseph Smith, Jr. through Smith's prophecy and the visitation of angels in the early 1800s. Thus, the church teaches that it is the only organization on the Earth with authority to conduct valid Christian sacraments ("ordinances") such as baptism or the Eucharist (called by LDS the "Sacrament"). The church also practices other sacraments, said to have been restored or instituted by Joseph Smith, such as Celestial marriage."

Latter-Day Pamphlets【電子書籍】[ Thomas Carlyle ]

Thomas Carlyle (4 December 1795 ? 5 February 1881) was a Scottish satirical writer, essayist, historian and teacher during the Victorian era.[1] He called economics "the dismal science", wrote articles for the Edinburgh Encyclopedia, and became a controversial social commentator.
Coming from a strict Calvinist family, Carlyle was expected to become a preacher by his parents, but while at the University of Edinburgh he lost his Christian faith. Calvinist values, however, remained with him throughout his life. His combination of a religious temperament with loss of faith in traditional Christianity, made Carlyle's work appealing to many Victorians who were grappling with scientific and political changes that threatened the traditional social order. He brought a trenchant style to his social and political criticism and a complex literary style to works such as The French Revolution: A History (1837). Dickens used Carlyle's work as a primary source for the events of the French Revolution in his novel A Tale of Two Cities.
-wikipedia

Expressions of Faith: Testimonies of Latter-day Saint Scholars【電子書籍】[ Black ]

The Prophet Joseph Smith and the Church have always had their detractors, from within as well as without. Some are quick to express disagreement with doctrine or policy, and some seem to delight in finding fault.

"In our own generation many in the news media who are drawn mindlessly to controversy have given [Mormon dissidents] new status and power, christening them 'Mormon intellectuals' and presenting them to the world as the thinking Mormons who know the inside story about the Church." So writes Noel B. Reynolds, professor of political science at Brigham Young University, in the introductory essay in this book.

But "in their rush to produce controversial news," he continues, "many journalists have overlooked the obvious truthーthe LDS intellectual and academic communities are composed of strong believers in Joseph Smith's revelations and solid supporters of the Church leadership. Only at the fringes is there noticeable dissent."

Expressions of Faith is a collection of essays by 24 prominent Latter-day Saint scholars, wherein each bears testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, based on his or her own experience. some share insights into scriptures or gospel principles. Some explore the relationship between learning by study and learning by faith. Some describe in very personal ways the path they took to become "a believer." But all have this in common: they all are scholars, and they all have firm testimonies of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Included among the contributors to this volume are such respected and noteworthy LDS scholars as Truman G. Madsen, Marilyn Arnold, Hugh W. Nibley, Allen E. Bergin, Gerald N. Lund, Susan Easton Black, Bruce C. Hafen, Robert L. Millet, Daniel H. Ludlow, Robert J. Matthews, and John W. Welch, along with many other.

"Although most contributors are persons of substantial learning, none base their beliefs in scholarly insights," writes Dr. Reynold. "Rather, all point to an inner conviction that has come through life experience and God's gift."

Writing in a clear, understandable, often personal style, the authors express their feelings and understandings in a way that strengthens faith and gives valuable insight. Those who read Expressions of Faith will feel a unity and harmony in the many testimonies and will be strengthened in their own.

C. S. Lewis was an accomplished scholar, writer, and Christian apologist. His incredible insights and wonderful stories have long been a favorite of the LDS community, and he has been referenced thousands of times throughout LDS writings. Even Shakespeare pales in comparison to the number of times C. S. Lewis has been quoted by Mormon authors, scholars, and General Authorities to illustrate doctrinal truths.

Lewis had a knack of speaking for “every man” and gave us modern parables for Christian living. All can relate to his testimony of Christ and his practical understanding of how to put gospel teachings into practice today.

C. S. Lewis: Latter-day Truths in Narnia explores Lewis’s life, his writings, and his influence on LDS writers, scholars, and authorities. Preparing the Way For the World to Receive the Restored Gospel of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, in These Latter-Days【電子書籍】[ Barry A. Baker ]

“From small and simple to grand and glorious” sends an immediate message to many readers, but to those who do not instantly envision examples before them, Preparing the Way seeks to reveal elements of past, present, and future events, woven together to set the stage for the great and dreadful day of the Lord. This paradigm stage is set for all to discover.

One of the clearest principles of world history is that everything we see before us today had a small beginning somewhere, somehow, influenced by someone. Remarkably enough, these events have prepared the way for the restoration of the church that Jesus Himself organized in His day and age. Through miraculous occurrences, His church is again upon the earth to prepare the way for His second coming to preside over His kingdom for the one-thousand-year millennial rule and reignーJesus as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Thoroughly researched and supported, this study invites you to embrace the knowledge that the same church that Jesus organized in the ancient Holy Land has been restored to the earth.

America's Destiny: Choosing God's Will or Ours (A Historical & Latter-day Saint Perspective)【電子書籍】[ Tad R. Callister ]

America's Destiny sets forth compelling evidence of America's divine origin and destiny-that it was a nation founded upon divine providence, not coincidence, as testified repeatedly by the Founding Fathers, respected historians, and statesmen. This revised edition also adds numerous scriptures and statements from prophets of God attesting to this truth. With that perspective, America's Destiny asks the question that should be on all of our minds, “What is the greatest challenge facing our nation today and how should we confront it in a way that pleases God?” The economy, national security, immigration, gun control, poverty, racism, crime, national pandemics, climate change? While each of these is a valid concern and deserves attention, none of them strikes at the heart of our greatest challenge, namely, finding a way to build stronger homes and bring about a return to family, God, and moral values. To put our prime focus on challenges other than these is to strike at the leaves, not the root of the problem. It is now our choice and America's choice - to place our trust in the wisdom of God or the wisdom of the world - to be a nation under God or without God. If we become a nation under God, then we become eligible to receive the promise: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” (Psalm 33:12)

I Will Send My Messenger An Introduction to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints【電子書籍】[ C. Paul Smith ]

No other Christian denomination makes the bold claims made by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsーthat resurrected apostles of Jesus visited Joseph Smith and conferred their apostolic authority upon him; that a resurrected, ancient American prophet named Moroni visited Joseph Smith and delivered a volume of ancient scripture to him; that God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph Smith; and that through the prophet Joseph Smith, God has now set up His kingdom on the earth. I Will Send My Messenger presents a lucid and forthright introduction to Mormonism, relating how the rise of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the fulfillment of Malachi’s prophecy that God would send his messenger to the earth in the last days to prepare the world for the Lord’s second coming. Many of the prophets foretold of this latter-day messenger and of the great latter-day restoration that God’s messengers would bring to pass. The Lord Jesus Christ spoke of it; so did the apostles, Peter, Paul and John; so did the prophets Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and Joel. Mormonism is in full harmony with the teachings of the Bibleーdespite the claims of its outspoken criticsーand the world is invited to learn the truth before condemning the faith. The testimony of Joseph Smith and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that Jesus is the Savior of the world and that God speaks from heaven to give messages to humankind todayーmessages whose importance to all the world is unsurpassed.

Here is a very useful collection of articles that clearly explain the essential teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This anthology gives a sensitive introduction to the religious life of Latter-day Saints and what it means to be a committed follower of Christ in the Mormon tradition. The contents have been newly arranged under the convenient headings of Christianity, Church History, Scriptures, Basic Beliefs, Church Structure and Culture, and Comparative Studies.

When the editors of Macmillan Publishing Company approached Brigham Young University in 1987 with the proposal of producing the Encyclopedia of Mormonism, they wanted to create a lasting resource that would help unfamiliar readers understand LDS history, scripture, doctrine, organization, and culture. They insisted that the articles be written by creditable scholars who were also trustworthy articulators of Latter-day Saint feelings. In order to know what Mormons believe, it seemed sensible to ask Latter-day Saints themselves.

The articles in this ebook are selected from the 1,300 articles in Macmillan's Encyclopedia of Mormonism. Some of these entries describe key topics that are central to the beliefs or characteristics that Latter-day Saints most fervently cherish. Others address the most basic points of LDS doctrine and practice. Growing an Ideology: How the Mormons Do It - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), Ideology, Socialization Structure, Church Expansion, Religious Capital and Beliefs, Insurgencies【電子書籍】[ Progressive Management ]

This excellent report has been professionally converted for accurate flowing-text e-book format reproduction. This thesis seeks to understand how ideology-based organizations grow, for understanding ideological promulgation is imperative to understanding conflicts arising from differing ideological principles. We assert that the philosophical framework that drives the ideology of an organization plays a secondary role in that group's expansion. Cultural socialization plays a much more dominant role in an ideology-based organization's growth or decline than the nature of the doctrine per se, or even adherence to the ideology. In other words, ideological organizations grow and contract based on this socialization framework, and not necessarily on the ideas they espouse. This stands in contrast to the notion that states can successfully wage "ideological" warfare-or fight for "hearts and minds" using a psychological, philosophical, or an idea-based approach alone. For missionaries of ideologies, it also means that churning out believers is difficult through preaching alone. A more effective approach is one that establishes an effective socialization program. We approach this study by examining growth in one of the world's most rapidly expanding ideology-based organizations: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). While the LDS is, at its core, a religious organization, it also stands as an ideology-based organization, providing prescriptive counsel to its members. The result is not only a religious organization, but a group which doctrinally espouses or prescribes specific economic, political, and moral behavior. While not all religious movements are ideological in nature, the all-encompassing character of the LDS serves as a prime example of a modern and successful ideological organization.

CHAPTER I * INTRODUCTION * A. White Roses on the Floor of Heaven Nature and Flower Imagery in Latter-Day Saints Women's Literature, 1880-1920【電子書籍】[ Susanna Morrill ]

First published in 2006. This volume marks the tenth volume in its series: Religion in History, Society and Culture. This series is designed to bring exciting new work by young scholars on religion to a wider audience. Susanna Morrill offers here a fine and sensitive reading of the little known, and often simply caricatured, history of the religious lives of Mormon women at the turn of the twentieth century. She reads the extensive use of flower imagery in poetry and other writing by these women as a species of lay theologizingーa way that LDS women elaborated and celebrated the latent female symbolism within a still young and incomplete religious system.

Summer Fellows' Papers 2003: Latter-day Saint Women in the Twentieth Century【電子書籍】[ Various authors ]

As part of the Smith Institute’s women’s initiative, eight advanced students were invited to BYU in summer 2003 to research women’s history in the twentieth century. The eight papers in this volume are the fruits of their labors. The papers show the actions and reactions of faithful women affected by change in the Church, such as international growth and the institution of the correlation program, and by change in American culture, such as the social revolutions of the late twentieth century.

While there were a number of great and important women to study, the scholars wanted also to consider the lives of the unsung. This volume reflects the scholars’ search for the generalities that create a master narrative of LDS women’s experience in the twentieth century interwoven with the individual stories, the poignant quotations, and the experiences of individual women.

Words to Live By Life Strategies of the Latter-day Prophets【電子書籍】[ Morris ]

In this exciting book, author Larry A. Morris explores a defining principle from the life of each Church President and illustrates how the leader lived that principle. For example, President Ezra Taft Benson once proclaimed, 'Do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may.' This personal motto was tested and retested during Elder Benson's welfare mission to postwar Europe and his tenure as the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. 'Trials will prove blessings in disguise,' promised Lorenzo Snow, who experienced the loss of his wife while serving a mission to Europe and who, during his administration as President of the Church, persisted in prayer when the heavens seemed closed to him. With wonderful insights about life, work, character, and love, Words to Live By provides meaningful direction for our everday lives.
