Dies mag angesichts der tiefgreifenden politischen und gesellschaftlichen Umw?lzungen in Russland seit der Oktoberrevolution wenig erstaunlich sein, richtet sich der historische Blick doch meistens auf diese 'gro?en' Ereignisse. Betrachtet man jedoch die damalige gesellschaftliche Situation in der Sowjetunion etwas genauer, erscheint die Vernachl?ssigung dieses Themas vonseiten der historischen Forschung geradezu bedenklich. So machte beispielsweise im Jahr 1926 die Gruppe der unter 30-j?hrigen fast 40% der Bev?lkerung der RSFSR aus.1 Die gro?e Jugendlichkeit der Bev?lkerung verdeutlicht, dass die neue sowjetische Gesellschaft in hohem Ma?e von Angeh?rigen der j?ngeren Generationen gebildet wurde. In Bezug auf den hier zu untersuchenden Zeitraum der Anfangsjahre des Stalinismus stellt sich die Frage, welchen Anteil die Unterst?tzung des Stalinismus durch die Jugend, und insbesondere durch den Komsomol, an der erfolgreichen Etablierung des Regimes hatte. Der zeitliche Schwerpunkt der Darstellung wird auf den Jahren 1928 bis 1934, also ungef?hr der Zeit der ersten beiden F?nfjahrpl?ne, liegen. Da die Wende von 1928 jedoch ohne die Vorgeschichte des Komsomol unverst?ndlich erscheinen muss, werden die Jahre des B?rgerkrieges und der NEP dort, wo sie f?r das Verst?ndnis notwendig sind, mit einbezogen. Der erste Teil der Arbeit gibt einen ?berblick ?ber die unterschiedlichen Jugendkonzepte in der bolschewistischen Ideologie von der Zeit des B?rgerkrieges bis zum 1. F?nfjahrplan. Im zweiten Teil wird den Jugendvorstellungen der Partei das Selbstverst?ndnis des Komsomol gegen?bergestellt. Am Beispiel des achten Kongresses des Jugendverbandes wird im dritten Teil das Verh?ltnis von Komsomol und Partei untersucht. Im vierten Teil folgt ein Exkurs ?ber den Zusammenhang von Jugend und Gewalt. Der f?nfte Teil ist den Motiven der Komsomolzen gewidmet, die unter Einbeziehung von Selbstzeugnissen beleuchtet werden. However, missionaries and government officials with ethnocentric attitudes of cultural superiority decreed that Native dances and ceremonies were immoral or un-Christian and an impediment to the integration of the Native population into Canadian society. Beginning in 1885, the Department of Indian Affairs implemented a series of amendments to the Canadian Indian Act, designed to eliminate traditional forms of religious expression and customs, such as the Sun Dance, the Midewiwin, the Sweat Lodge, and giveaway ceremonies.However, the amendments were only partially effective. Aboriginal resistance to the laws took many forms; community leaders challenged the legitimacy of the terms and the manner in which the regulations were implemented, and they altered their ceremonies, the times and locations, the practices, in an attempt both to avoid detection and to placate the agents who enforced the law.Katherine Pettipas views the amendments as part of official support for the destruction of indigenous cultural systems. She presents a critical analysis of the administrative policies and considers the effects of government suppression of traditional religious activities on the whole spectrum of Aboriginal life, focussing on the experiences of the Plains Cree from the mid-1880s to 1951, when the regulations pertaining to religious practices were removed from the Act.
