A Storm of Witchcraft The Salem Trials and the American Experience【電子書籍】[ Emerson W. Baker ]

Beginning in January 1692, Salem Village in colonial Massachusetts witnessed the largest and most lethal outbreak of witchcraft in early America. Villagers--mainly young women--suffered from unseen torments that caused them to writhe, shriek, and contort their bodies, complaining of pins stuck into their flesh and of being haunted by specters. Believing that they suffered from assaults by an invisible spirit, the community began a hunt to track down those responsible for the demonic work. The resulting Salem Witch Trials, culminating in the execution of 19 villagers, persists as one of the most mysterious and fascinating events in American history. Historians have speculated on a web of possible causes for the witchcraft that stated in Salem and spread across the region-religious crisis, ergot poisoning, an encephalitis outbreak, frontier war hysteria--but most agree that there was no single factor. Rather, as Emerson Baker illustrates in this seminal new work, Salem was "a perfect storm": a unique convergence of conditions and events that produced something extraordinary throughout New England in 1692 and the following years, and which has haunted us ever since. Baker shows how a range of factors in the Bay colony in the 1690s, including a new charter and government, a lethal frontier war, and religious and political conflicts, set the stage for the dramatic events in Salem. Engaging a range of perspectives, he looks at the key players in the outbreak--the accused witches and the people they allegedly bewitched, as well as the judges and government officials who prosecuted them--and wrestles with questions about why the Salem tragedy unfolded as it did, and why it has become an enduring legacy. Salem in 1692 was a critical moment for the fading Puritan government of Massachusetts Bay, whose attempts to suppress the story of the trials and erase them from memory only fueled the popular imagination. Baker argues that the trials marked a turning point in colonial history from Puritan communalism to Yankee independence, from faith in collective conscience to skepticism toward moral governance. A brilliantly told tale, A Storm of Witchcraft also puts Salem's storm into its broader context as a part of the ongoing narrative of American history and the history of the Atlantic World.

Six Women of Salem The Untold Story of the Accused and Their Accusers in the Salem Witch Trials【電子書籍】[ Marilynne K. Roach ]

"[Full of] the author's deep knowledge of virtually every man, woman and child affected by the trials in this bizarre period." ー Kirkus Reviews
The story of the Salem Witch Trials told through the lives of six women
Six Women of Salem is the first work to use the lives of a select number of representative women as a microcosm to illuminate the larger crisis of the Salem witch trials. By the end of the trials, beyond the twenty who were executed and the five who perished in prison, 207 individuals had been accused, 74 had been "afflicted," 32 had officially accused their fellow neighbors, and 255 ordinary people had been inexorably drawn into that ruinous and murderous vortex, and this doesn't include the religious, judicial, and governmental leaders. All this adds up to what the Rev. Cotton Mather called "a desolation of names."
The individuals involved are too often reduced to stock characters and stereotypes when accuracy is sacrificed to indignation. By examining the lives of six specific women, Marilynne Roach shows readers what it was like to be present throughout this horrific time and how it was impossible to live through it unchanged.
"This style of narrative provides an intimacy with the Salem people. . . . yet readers still reap the benefits of Roach's thorough researched and expertise on the subject." ー Publishers Weekly

Winds Over Jerusalem The Story of Rae Landy, Pioneer Nurse of Hadassah【電子書籍】[ Debbi Perkul ]

Winds Over Jerusalem provides a rare, eyewitness account of Jerusalem 1913-15, a critical period in history, through the lens of two American Jewish women. It adds insight and understanding to the complex relationship that still exists between American Jews, Israel and the United States government. On a brisk winter day in 1913, Rae Landy boarded a ship headed to Palestine. Her final destination was Jerusalem, a desolate city filled with disease and poverty, languishing under the indifferent rule of the Ottoman Empire. Along with nursing partner Rose Kaplan, her mandate was to set up a district nursing system under the auspices of a new Zionist women's organization called Hadassah. The two nurses braved tremendous hardships to bring hope and better health to the people of that ancient city. Arriving in Palestine full of high aspirations and ideals, the nurses were rapidly jolted to reality when faced with people's deplorable living conditions and mistrust. They were shocked to see that many diseases were treated with magical spells and amulets. As the nurses slowly carved out a place for themselves in the city, gaining the loyalty and then the love of their patients, they enjoyed a lively social life with the many colourful personalities that lived in and visited Jerusalem. The sudden eruption of World War I was catastrophic for Palestine, particularly in Jerusalem, and brought a dramatic halt to their way of life. When Rose had to leave the country at the end of 1914, Rae was all alone, facing the onslaught of famine, starvation, and the never-ending misery of the people. *** "I would highly recommend Winds over Jerusalem for a synagogue library. It would make a good gift book for anyone going into the medical profession and it is also a good choice to buy for a young adult." --AJL Newsletter, November/December 2017 [Subject: Jewish Studies, Gender Studies, Hadassah, Palestine Studies, History]

Political Conflict and Exclusion in Jerusalem The Provision of Education and Social Services【電子書籍】[ Rawan Nuseibeh ]

The political conflict over the city of Jerusalem has resulted in the breach of Palestinian Jerusalemites’ civil, political and social rights. While Israel claims sovereignty over East Jerusalem, it neglects to provide adequate services to the Palestinian residents of the city. The Israeli Jerusalem Municipality provides insufficient and highly politicised educational services to the Palestinians residents of the city, at the same time discriminating against the other Palestinian systems that provide educational services.

Political Conflict and Exclusion in Jerusalem offers a detailed description of the structure of the education sector in East Jerusalem with its four main providers; the Palestinian Authority through Awqaf schools, the Israeli Authority through municipal schools, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency and private schools. Its study reveals that there is no single body that oversees the provision of educational services in the city to ensure that the services provided are sufficient and of quality. Employing a qualitative research strategy with semi-structured interviews and focus groups in Palestinian and Israeli schools, this book offers a comprehensive and revealing comparison of the educational services provided to both their students. It explores how Palestinian and Israeli students routinely receive vastly different learning opportunities, in terms of school funding, qualified staff, school facilities and school programmes, which as a result disempowers Palestinians and ensures an Israeli Jewish hegemony over the city.

One of the few academic books on a highly pertinent topic, this book will be of interest to students and scholars of Middle East Studies, and a key resource for those studying the social impacts of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Building Jerusalem The Rise and Fall of the Victorian City【電子書籍】[ Tristram Hunt ]

From Manchester's deadly cotton works to London's literary salons, a brilliant exploration of how the Victorians created the modern city
Since Charles Dickens first described Coketown in Hard Times, the nineteenth-century city, born of the industrial revolution, has been a byword for deprivation, pollution, and criminality. Yet, as historian Tristram Hunt argues in this powerful new history, the Coketowns of the 1800s were far more than a monstrous landscape of factories and tenements. By 1851, more than half of Britain's population lived in cities, and even as these pioneers confronted a frightening new way of life, they produced an urban flowering that would influence the shape of cities for generations to come.
Drawing on diaries, newspapers, and classic works of fiction, Hunt shows how the Victorians translated their energy and ambition into realizing an astonishingly grand vision of the utopian city on a hillーthe new Jerusalem. He surveys the great civic creations, from town halls to city squares, sidewalks, and even sewers, to reveal a story of middle-class power and prosperity and the liberating mission of city life. Vowing to emulate the city-states of Renaissance Italy, the Victorians worked to turn even the smokestacks of Manchester and Birmingham into sites of freedom and art. And they succeededーuntil twentieth-century decline transformed wealthy metropolises into dangerous inner cities.
An original history of proud cities and confident citizens, Building Jerusalem depicts an unrivaled era that produced one of the great urban civilizations of Western history.

The Rescue of Jerusalem The Alliance Between Hebrews and Africans in 701 BC【電子書籍】[ Henry Aubin ]

In 701 BC, the powerful Assyrian army laid siege to Jerusalem, threatening the Hebrew kingdom with destruction. What saved the City of David? The Bible credits divine intervention. Modern scholars have long speculated that a plague spread through the ranks of the Assyrian soldiers, forcing them to withdraw.

Now, in this ground-breaking account, award-winning author Henry Aubin argues that it was the Kushites, the black Africans who formed Egypt’s 25th dynasty, who saved Jerusalem, the birthplace of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In his powerful, wide-ranging analysis, Aubin shows how Western scholarship turned its back on the theory of black African involvement.

The account of the long-forgotten African and Hebrew alliance that rescued Jerusalem will change the face of Jewish and African history and contribute to a fresh understanding of our world today.

Eichmann Before Jerusalem The Unexamined Life of a Mass Murderer【電子書籍】[ Bettina Stangneth ]

A total and groundbreaking reassessment of the life of Adolf Eichmannーa superb work of scholarship that reveals his activities and notoriety among a global network of National Socialists following the collapse of the Third Reich and that permanently challenges Hannah Arendt’s notion of the “banality of evil.”

Smuggled out of Europe after the collapse of Germany, Eichmann managed to live a peaceful and active exile in Argentina for years before his capture by the Mossad. Though once widely known by nicknames such as “Manager of the Holocaust,” in 1961 he was able to portray himself, from the defendant’s box in Jerusalem, as an overworked bureaucrat following ordersーno more, he said, than “just a small cog in Adolf Hitler’s extermination machine.” How was this carefully crafted obfuscation possible? How did a central architect of the Final Solution manage to disappear? And what had he done with his time while in hiding?

Bettina Stangneth, the first to comprehensively analyze more than 1,300 pages of Eichmann’s own recently discovered written notesー as well as seventy-three extensive audio reel recordings of a crowded Nazi salon held weekly during the 1950s in a popular district of Buenos Airesーdraws a chilling portrait, not of a reclusive, taciturn war criminal on the run, but of a highly skilled social manipulator with an inexhaustible ability to reinvent himself, an unrepentant murderer eager for acolytes with whom to discuss past glories while vigorously planning future goals with other like-minded fugitives.

A work that continues to garner immense international attention and acclaim, Eichmann Before Jerusalem maps out the astonishing links between innumerable past Nazisーfrom ace Luftwaffe pilots to SS henchmenーboth in exile and in Germany, and reconstructs in detail the postwar life of one of the Holocaust’s principal organizers as no other book has done

From Jerusalem to the Lion of Judah and Beyond Israel’S Foreign Policy in East Africa【電子書籍】[ Steven Carol ]

From Jerusalem to the Lion of Judah and Beyond provides the most thorough analysis of Israels foreign policy towards East Africa. Since its modern reestablishment, Israel has sought political allies in the international community. To achieve that goal, Israel offers technological, economic and military assistance to developing nations. Historically, four East African countriesEthiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania were prime beneficiaries of that effort. Later, these efforts were extended to Eritrea and South Sudan. Israel has been demonstrating its willingness to off er a far greater share of its limited resources to international assistance, than practically any other nation, large or small. Since 1948, Israels foreign policy towards East Africa exemplifies these immortal words: I will also give thee [Israel] for a light to the nations, that My salvation may be unto the end of the earth. Isaiah 49:6.

The chronicles of these laudable activities are little known, even to post World War II historians. No other book to date covers this subject in as much depth. Anyone seeking a more profound understanding of Israels foreign policy, as well as its historic relationship with East Africa, will find From Jerusalem to the Lion of Judah and Beyond of interest.

Christian Music in Jerusalem The First Two Thousand Years【電子書籍】[ Alexander Rosenblatt ]

This book brings together several decades of research on the topic, including the last two decades of the author’s own research. Each specific point of view was either formed beforehand or emerged in the process of ethnography and its analysis. The book explores various aspects of autochthonous Christian music in Jerusalem and other localities in Israel. It covers aspects such as the music of iconic Christian places in Jerusalem; fieldwork, documentation, and research of the local Christian tradition and its music; and longitudinal perspectives and cross-cultural environment. Other topics include historical connections (albeit hypothetical and not based on direct evidence of any kind or source) between Christian music heard and performed in the churches of Jerusalem and its predecessors in Second Temple practices, the earliest Christian music in the area, and other sources with varying historical depth. The book presents a wide range of topics related to the history and modernity of Christian music through the eyes of a scholar from Jerusalem, a city that encompasses the musical traditions of 10 officially represented churches, not to mention their subdivisions, as well as several other, officially unrepresented denominations.

Rebuilding the Temple at Jerusalem The Persian Empire's Influence In The Rebuilding Of Jerusalem【電子書籍】[ Sandy Miller ]

When the Persian Empire conquered the Babylonians, one of

Cyrus the Persian's first acts was to decree that any Jew who had

been deported to Babylon, by Nebuchadnezzar, nearly 70 years

earlier could return to his homeland to help rebuild the temple. His

proclamation read: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me

all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build

a temple for him in Jerusalem. Cyrus apparently believed he had

been divinely authorized to rule many nations with many gods and

goddesses. He honored the various gods of the nations by rebuilding

the temples to their gods.

After Cyrus's proclamation, almost 40,000 Jews left Babylon

and headed for Jerusalem. Cyrus sent silver and gold goblets with

the exiles to be returned to the temple at Jerusalem. Jerusalem The Biography Of The Controversial Capital【電子書籍】[ Louis Asare ]

Jerusalem is the universal city, the capital of two peoples, the shrine of three faiths; it is the prize of empires, the site of Judgement Day and the battlefield of today's clash of civilizations. From King David to Barack Obama, from the birth of Judaism, Christianity and Islam to the Israel-Palestine conflict, this is the epic history of 3,000 years of faith, slaughter, fanaticism and coexistence.

How did this small, remote town become the Holy City, the 'centre of the world' and now the key to peace in the Middle East? In a gripping narrative, Louis Asare reveals this ever-changing city in its many incarnations, bringing every epoch and character blazingly to life. Jerusalem's biography is told through the wars, love affairs and revelations of the men and women - kings, empresses, prophets, poets, saints, conquerors and whores - who created, destroyed, chronicled and believed in Jerusalem.

During its long history, Jerusalem has been attacked 52 times, captured and recaptured 44 times, besieged 23 times, and destroyed twice. The oldest part of the city was settled in the 4th millennium BCE, making Jerusalem one of the oldest cities in the world.

Given the city's central position in both Israeli nationalism and Palestinian nationalism, the selectivity required to summarize more than 5,000 years of inhabited history is often influenced by ideological bias or background. These and many more you will find when you read through this book.

The fascinating history of German Jews who built a community just outside Jerusalem.

In the 1920s, before the establishment of Israel, a group of German Jews settled in a garden city on the outskirts of Jerusalem. During World War II, their quiet community, nicknamed Grunewald on the Orient, emerged as both an immigrant safe haven and a lively expatriate hotspot, welcoming many famous residents including poet-playwright Else Lasker-Sch?ler, historian Gershom Scholem, and philosopher Martin Buber. It was an idyllic setting, if fraught with unique tensions on the fringes of the long-divided holy city. After the war, despite the weight of the Shoah, the neighborhood miraculously repaired shattered bonds between German and Israeli residents. Jerusalem through the Ages From Its Beginnings to the Crusades【電子書籍】[ Jodi Magness ]

A major new history of one of the world's holiest of cities, based on the most recent archaeological discoveries First settled five thousand years ago by a mountain spring between the Mediterranean and Dead Sea, Jerusalem was named for the god (Shalem) that was worshipped there. When David reportedly conquered the city, ca. 1000 BCE, he transferred the Ark of the Covenant--and with it, the presence of the God of Israel--to this rocky outcrop. Here, David's son Solomon built a permanent house for the God of Israel called the first temple, and since then this spot has been known as the Temple Mount. After Babylonians destroyed Solomon's temple in 586 BCE, it was replaced by the second temple, which is the setting for many of the events described in the Gospel accounts. In 70 CE, the Romans destroyed Jerusalem, leaving the Temple Mount in ruins. Two hundred and fifty years later, the emperor Constantine constructed the Church of the Holy Sepulcher around the spots where Jesus is believed to have been crucified and buried, and the church is now considered Jerusalem's holiest site by many Christians worldwide. In the late seventh century CE the focus shifted back to the Temple Mount, when an early Islamic ruler named `Abd al-Malek enshrined the rocky outcrop in a monument that is still iconic of the city today: the Dome of the Rock. In 1099 Crusaders conquered Jerusalem, and although their rule was brief rule they left a deep impact on the city. Today, much of the old city retains its medieval appearance. For followers of the three Abrahamic faiths, Jerusalem is the place where the presence of the God of Israel dwells--the meeting point of heaven and earth and the locus of divine and human interaction. Jerusalem through the Ages by Jodi Magness explores how these beliefs came to be associated with the city by introducing readers to its complex and layered history, providing a broad yet detailed account, including the most recent archaeological discoveries. Each chapter focuses on a key moment of transition from Jerusalem's beginnings to the Crusades of the medieval period, enabling readers to experience the city's many transformations as it changed hands and populations-Jebusites, Israelites, Judahites, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The book also includes a walking guide for visitors who wish to experience the city's many archaeological sites firsthand.

Seek the Peace of Jerusalem The Role of Religious Leaders in the Arab-Israeli Conflict【電子書籍】[ Omer Salem ]

Over the last seven decades, since the formation of the State of Israel, there has been no shortage of Jews and Arabs desiring peace in Israel-Palestine (the Holy Land). Most peacemaking attempts failed because the parties did not see peace as a win-win deal. The prevailing mantra in this conflict is win-lose or no deal. Today, the Palestinians are not willing to make a deal with the Israeli Jews because they perceive that a deal with the Israeli Jews means the Palestinians will lose. Also, the Israelis are not willing to make a deal with the Palestinian Arabs because they perceive that a deal with the Palestinian Arabs means the Israelis will lose. There are also other geopolitical factors affecting this conflict. This conflict is gradually shifting toward a battle fueled by people relying on religious texts to prolong the struggle.

Jerusalem The Role of the Hebrew People in the Spiritual Biography of Humanity【電子書籍】[ Yeshayahu Ben-Aharon ]

'The better I understand the roots of the Hebrew people and its universal-human mission, the better I shall understand the nature of humanity and its mission; and the more human I become, in the most universal sense, anchored in a new spiritual knowledge and practice, the more fulfilled, active and creative I can be at the roots of my existence as a Jew and an Israeli.' ? Yeshayahu Ben-Aharon Based on a remarkable series of lectures delivered in his native Israel, Dr Ben-Aharon presents his illuminating research on the meaning of Judaism and the spiritual mission of the Jewish people in the past, present and future. The Hebrew people have been a central root in the development not only of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, but of the universal human spirit itself. Thus, a new understanding of their development and contribution to the spiritual biography of humanity is essential to understanding ourselves as human beings. The Jews were chosen to reveal the deepest secret of ancient times: the existence of one God above all gods, being the Creator of all human beings ? beyond race, nation and gender ? in his divine image. The great historical and spiritual figures of the Hebrew people ? Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joseph, the Judges, Kings and Prophets ? prepared humanity for individuation ? the true 'I AM' ? through devotion to the divine foundation of the world. 'The Lord our God is one', who is to be loved with all one's heart, soul and being. Each person could now fulfill the Word, which could be actualized on earth ? in the human being. In Jerusalem Dr Ben-Aharon describes the evolution of the Hebrew people and its role in the development of the human race. The journey continues to the present day, where the universal human Self has the potential to become a free participator in the ongoing creation of the universe.

Governance and Security in Jerusalem is the second in a series of three books which collectively present in detail the work of the Jerusalem Old City Initiative, or JOCI, a major Canadian-led Track Two diplomatic effort, undertaken between 2003 and 2014. The aim of the Initiative was to find sustainable governance solutions for the Old City of Jerusalem, arguably the most sensitive and intractable of the final status issues dividing Palestinians and Israelis.

This book presents a collection of studies commissioned by the Initiative in aid of its work on the Special Regime. It is split into three parts, Part I provides background papers on governance and security issues; Part II presents Palestinian and Israeli partner perspectives on governance options for a special regime, and the Part III delivers partner perspectives on security studies for a special regime. The studies written by the Israeli and Palestinian partners provide important background and historical context for JOCI's work on security and governance. The position papers, presented in their original form, greatly influenced the development of the Special Regime governance model.

Offering a unique insight on a range of governance and security issues in Jerusalem, this book will be of great significance to the policy-making community and students and scholars with an interest in Middle East politics, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Middle East peace process.

The Landfill of Early Roman Jerusalem The 2013?2014 Excavations in Area D3【電子書籍】[ Yuval Gadot ]

This is the story of the landfill that operated in Jerusalem during the first century CE and served as its garbage dump during the ca. 50-year period that followed Jesus’s crucifixion through to the period that led to the great revolt of the Jews just prior to the city’s destruction.

The book presents an extensive investigation of hundreds of thousands of items that were systematically excavated from the thick layers of landfill. It brings together experts who conducted in-depth studies of every sort of material discarded as refuseーceramic, metal, glass, bone, wood, and more. This research presents an amazing and tantalizing picture of daily life in ancient Jerusalem, and how life was shaped and regulated by strict behavioral rules (halacha). The book also explores why garbage was collected in Jerusalem in so strict a manner and why the landfill operated for only about 50 years. Half a century of garbage from Early Roman?period Jerusalem provides an abundance of new data and new insights into the ideological choices and new religious concepts emerging and developing among those living in Jerusalem at this critical moment. It is an eye-opener for archaeologists, historians, anthropologists, and theologians, as well as for the general reader.

'History writing at its compulsive best' A. N. Wilson

This is a history of the ideas that shaped not only London, but Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield and other power-houses of 19th-century Britain. It charts the controversies and visions that fostered Britain's greatest civic renaissance.

Tristram Hunt explores the horrors of the Victorian city, as seen by Dickens, Engels and Carlyle; the influence of the medieval Gothic ideal of faith, community and order espoused by Pugin and Ruskin; the pride in self-government, identified with the Saxons as opposed to the Normans; the identification with the city republics of the Italian renaissance - commerce, trade and patronage; the change from the civic to the municipal, and greater powers over health, education and housing; and finally at the end of the century, the retreat from the urban to the rural ideal, led by William Morris and the garden-city movement of Ebenezer Howard.

Walking in the proverbial shoes of Arabs, Jews and misfits the world over, the author immerses himself in the “Holy Land” like no other walker/writer before him. Sailing to Israel with his wife, perennial innocents abroad, and broke, they become volunteers on various communes and kibbutzim in the Occupied Territories. “Kibbutz hopping” from the snows of Mt. Hermon on the Syrian border, to the troubled waters of Aqaba, they encounter every strata of scenery and society, discovering a certain unexpected and controversial reality as they go. Soon they evolve from being gung-ho volunteers to cautious travelers after the author’s near “hunting” accident while hiking in the Judean hills when he was shot at by a soldier. In the end, his passion for justice, what is natural and true, renders this book a spiritual journey. His underlying search for God and soul, finding his brother in the other, is a tour de force you can’t book with your travel agent.

Jesus of Nazareth Holy Week: From the Entrance Into Jerusalem To The Resurrection【電子書籍】[ Pope Benedict XVI ]

For Christians, Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, and who rose from the dead in triumph over sin and death. For non-Christians, he is almost anything else--a myth, a political revolutionary, a prophet whose teaching was misunderstood or distorted by his followers.

Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God, and no myth, revolutionary, or misunderstood prophet, insists Benedict XVI. He thinks that the best of historical scholarship, while it can't "prove" Jesus is the Son of God, certainly doesn't disprove it. Indeed, Benedict maintains that the evidence, fairly considered, brings us face-to-face with the challenge of Jesus--a real man who taught and acted in ways that were tantamount to claims of divine authority, claims not easily dismissed as lunacy or deception.

Benedict XVI presents this challenge in his new book, Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection, the sequel volume to Jesus of Nazareth: From the Baptism in the Jordan to the Transfiguration.

Why was Jesus rejected by the religious leaders of his day? Who was responsible for his death? Did he establish a Church to carry on his work? How did Jesus view his suffering and death? How should we? And, most importantly, did Jesus really rise from the dead and what does his resurrection mean? The story of Jesus raises many crucial questions.

Benedict brings to his study the vast learning of a brilliant scholar, the passionate searching of a great mind, and the deep compassion of a pastor's heart. In the end, he dares readers to grapple with the meaning of Jesus' life, teaching, death, and resurrection.

"Only in this second volume do we encounter the decisive sayings and events of Jesus' life . . . I hope that I have been granted an insight into the figure of Our Lord that can be helpful to all readers who seek to encounter Jesus and to believe in Him."
-Pope Benedict XVI
