The Scattered Gods Guardians of the Golden Age (Illustrated Edition)【電子書籍】[ Dan Bune ]

? The Scattered Gods: Guardians of the Golden Age (Illustrated Edition)

By Dan Bune

What if the gods of ancient myth were real-scattered across the stars, reborn in human DNA, and awakening just in time to face a galactic darkness?

On the rugged plains of Mars, marine biologist Alex Thompson and archaeologist Olivia Walker uncover more than ruins-they unlock echoes of forgotten gods buried in their blood. As their dormant powers awaken, they become the first sparks in a galaxy-wide prophecy.

Guided by the enigmatic Sananda and joined by the powerful Pleiadian warrior Amara, Alex and Olivia begin a cosmic journey to unite the lost descendants of divine beings. From the jungles of Xylar to the frozen world of Zhoth and the luminous seas of Aquaria, they forge unlikely alliances with reptilian shapeshifters, energy-based sentient beings, and aquatic empaths.

But an ancient enemy stirs: the Devourer-a force of entropy and despair that feeds on fear, chaos, and broken hope. As the scattered gods rise, so too does the war for the soul of the galaxy.

This re-illustrated edition brings the story to life with vivid artwork, star maps, prophecy diagrams, and stunning depictions of cosmic battles and planetary wonders. Ideal for fans of Avatar, Mass Effect, and The Celestine Prophecy, Scattered Gods is a soul-stirring fusion of sci-fi adventure, spiritual mythology, and visual storytelling.

Editorial Review

"Scattered Gods: Guardians of the Golden Age" is a breathtaking fusion of cosmic adventure, ancient mythology, and visionary science fiction. In this vividly reimagined illustrated edition, author Dan Bune elevates the epic to new heights-combining cinematic storytelling with rich spiritual undercurrents that explore human potential, divine legacy, and universal unity.

From the first chapter, readers are thrust into a Martian landscape that feels both alien and intimately familiar, as protagonists Alex and Olivia awaken not just to extraterrestrial threats, but to the celestial codes hidden in their DNA. Guided by mysterious mentors and joined by interstellar allies, their journey through jungle planets, frozen worlds, and underwater civilizations forms a radiant tapestry of purpose, growth, and awakening.

The illustrations breathe new life into each scene, transforming the novel into a multi-sensory experience. Every star map, energy diagram, and prophecy vision adds depth and texture to an already expansive universe. The result is part graphic novel, part metaphysical odyssey-an invitation to remember who we are and what we're capable of.

Dan Bune writes with heart and imagination, blending science and spirit into a narrative that's as entertaining as it is enlightening. Scattered Gods doesn't just tell a story-it activates one.

A must-read for fans of visionary sci-fi, lovers of mythic storytelling, and seekers of higher truths.

Scattered Graves The Civil War Campaigns of Confederate Brigadier General and Cherokee Chief Stand Watie【電子書籍】[ COL USA (RET) ROY SULLIVAN ]

Although depicted on a U.S. postage stamp and post card, Confederate Brigadier General and Cherokee Chief Stand Watie is virtually unknown to readers. The only Indian to be promoted to general on either side of the civil war, Watie was also the last Confederate general to surrender to Union forces. This book traces his skirmishes and battles--some victories, some defeats--during that terrible war. Pea Ridge was the largest battle west of the Mississippi where Watie led his Cherokee Mounted Rifles regiment. Later, Watie became the first cavalry commander to capture a Union ship, the J.R. Williams, underway in the Arkansas River. After his surrender to a Union commissioner, Watie--a man called by events and his Cherokee people to uncommon valor and leadership--continued to represent and inspire his people during the bitter period of reconstruction in the Indian Territory which eventually became the state of Oklahoma.

Scattered Among the Nations Photographs and Stories of the World's Most Isolated Jewish Communities【電子書籍】[ Bryan Schwartz ]

"A beautifully presented book on Jewish diversity around the world . . . opens windows into lives from the hills of Portugal to the plains of Africa." ー The Jerusalem Post
With vibrant photographs and intricate accounts Scattered Among the Nations tells the story of the world's most isolated Jewish communities in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Former Soviet Union and the margins of Europe. Over two thousand years ago, a shipwreck left seven Jewish couples stranded off India's Konkan Coast, south of Bombay. Those hardy survivors stayed, built a community, and founded one of the fascinating groups described in this bookーthe Bene Israel of India's Maharasthra Province. This story is unique, but it is not unusual. We have all heard the phrase "the lost tribes of Israel," but never has the truth and wonder of the Diaspora been so lovingly and richly illustrated. To create this amazing chronicle of faith and resilience, the authors visited Jews in thirty countries across five continents, hearing origin stories and family histories that stretch back for millennia.
"Beautiful, even breathtaking . . . a Jewish (Inter) National Geographic, wisely reminding us that the strategies for survival of Jews in distant lands may be relevant to our own." ーRabbi Lawrence Kushner, Emanu-El Scholar at Congregation Emanu-El of San Francisco and author of I'm God; You're Not
"This exquisite book is a gift to the Jewish people, dramatically stretching our understanding of 'Jewish' . . . A book to be savored, read and re-read, and transmitted from one generation to the next." ーYossi Klein Halevi, Senior Fellow, Shalom Hartman Institute, Jerusalem

*From the author of The Last Children of Tokyo*****

A mind-expanding, cheerfully dystopian novel about friendship, difference and what it means to belong, by a National Book Award-winning novelist.

Welcome to the not-too-distant future. Japan, having vanished into the sea, is now remembered as 'the land of sushi'. Hiruko, a former citizen and a climate refugee herself, has a job teaching immigrant children in Denmark with her invented language Panska (Pan-Scandinavian): 'homemade language. no country to stay in. three countries I experienced. no time to learn three different languages. might mix up. insufficient space in brain. so made new language. homemade language most Scandinavian people understand'.

Hiruko soon makes new friends to join her in her travels searching for anyone who can still speak her mother tongue: Knut, a graduate student in linguistics, who is fascinated by her Panska; Akash, an Indian man who lives as a woman, wearing a red sari; Nanook, an Eskimo from Greenland, first mistaken as another refugee from the land of sushi; and Nora, who works at the Karl Marx House in Trier. All these characters take turns narrating chapters, which feature an umami cooking competition; a dead whale; an ultra- nationalist named Breivik; Kakuzo robots; uranium; and an Andalusian bull fight. Episodic, vividly imagined and mesmerising, Scattered All Over the Earth is another sui generis masterwork by Yoko Tawada.

Hello again, and welcome to the newest installation of the joint venture known as Scattered Thoughts. I use the term “joint venture” because both of us have jobs here…you and I. While admittedly, I do most of the heavy lifting by turning a magician’s thin air into readable and flowing prose, your effort is then required to peruse and enjoy said work. Yep, it’s give and take, ying and yang, odd man out, red rover, red rover, send Jimmy right over, world-peace achieved-in-our-lifetime, grab a seat when the music stops kind of stuff. I sincerely hope your life has rolled along as a well-oiled and properly tuned machine since last we spoke. I am well. Thanks for asking. With that said, give me your hand and come this way. I have many new thoughts to share with you….most of them scattered.

However, when I was free to venture outside, I’d observe as birds glide through the sky, insects crawling to and from their nest across blades of grass, or over vegetation in my mother’s garden. I spent hours just lying in the grass, discerning abstract objects as the clouds changed form. I wasn’t concerned about UV rays, sun block or getting sunburned in those days. I recall sitting for hours, in total amazement, observing nature. I was a nature geek. While many of my friends were playing with dolls or imagining moments with Prince Charming and weddings in white gowns, I enjoyed dreaming of diving into the shores of warm Caribbean seas, visiting the world’s majestic structures, or motorcycle racing spectacular ruins deep in the rain forest. I was a Black Lara Croft. Scattered to the Winds【電子書籍】[ Joy Thomas ]

‘Scattered to the Winds’ pursues Gee as she navigates her way through a life packed with secrets. This life entwines with her husband Alfred, an Irish sailor Michael and Dennis, a small town lad from the wheatbelt of Western Australia. Set towards the end of the Second World War. It ranges from Fremantle to areas of the Pacific war zone and back to Fremantle. It continues to the “Golden West’s” Wheatbelt region after the war is over. Gee has a secret. It isn’t a secret about death and dire consequences. Yes, she has a secret in fact she has more than one, but it’s about fighting for her own existence, realising the futility of her love and of surviving a life that resulted in a woman needing to leave her children behind. Did the circumstances force her into this decision or did she decide it was the best for all? Choices or fate. I have no idea. Recollections of her own childhood defined a difficult woman to know. She had learnt early on how to manipulate any circumstances to her advantage in which she found herself. Running from her memories and never facing her choices enabled her to move on to make a new life. Over the time she changed her name, her age, her look, but her personality and her loud laugh stayed the same. With Gee never truly finding a sense of peace.

Ethiopians in an Age of Migration Scattered lives beyond borders【

The migration of Ethiopians across international borders is a recent phenomenon because of the limited integration of the country and society to the global economy. Since it was never colonized ? aside from the Italian occupation of 1936-1941 ? Ethiopia’s economy and society were not directly impacted by the ebb and flow of the global economy, and thus never generated international migration. Beginning in the 1970s, due to factors such as famine, rural poverty, civil war, and political repression, an unprecedented number of Ethiopian migrants began to leave their country in search of better, more secure lives. Today, this diaspora constitutes a distinctive community dispersed across the world, but bound by a common feeling of collectiveness and a shared history of the homeland.

The contributors to this volume draw their work from a wide variety of interdisciplinary fields and provide new critical insight on Ethiopian migrants and their diaspora communities. What has emerged from these scholarly works is the recognition that the Ethiopian diaspora ? although separated by oceans and nations, by politics, ethnicity, class, gender and age ? are carving out a social and material world born out of their particular circumstances both "here" and "there". This book was originally published as a special issue of African and Black Diaspora: An International Journal.

"An important new interpretation of how religious change shaped American cultural identity in the early republic." ー Journal of American History
Northern New England, a rugged landscape dotted with transient settlements, posed challenges to the traditional town church in the wake of the American Revolution. Using the methods of spatial geography, Shelby M. Balik examines how migrants adapted their understanding of religious community and spiritual space to survive in the harsh physical surroundings of the region. The notions of boundaries, place, and identity they developed became the basis for spreading New England's deeply rooted spiritual culture, even as it opened the way to a new evangelical age.
"I strongly recommend Balik's book for those studying colonial religious landscapes and heritages not only in New England, but in the nineteenth-century religious diasporas that swept the continent with varying mixes of European colonials and also African and Asian heritages." ーStanley D. Brunn, University of Kentucky
"In this beautifully written and richly researched work, Shelby Balik shows how the travels of early nineteenth century Methodists, Universalists and freewill Baptist itinerant missionaries and congregations recreated the geography of New England Protestantism, setting in motion (literally) a tension between religious rootedness and religious uprootedness, center and periphery, that endures to today. Early American religious history in Balik's retelling of it is one of bodies in constant movement in and out and around the city on the hill. The delight Balik takes in maps and journeys is infectious. This is a wonderful addition to American religious historiography." ーRobert Orsi, Northwestern University

This book is a representation of my thoughts. It is everything that I want to be but could not. It is a summary of my experiences and the colors in which I see.
This book is about me learning to acknowledge before wanting to heal. It is about learning to accept before expecting and seeing the essentials before seeking the extraordinary. This book is my unlearning process.
This book is a child of fear, anger, love, and everything in-between. It is my act of kindness. A kindness that I needed to show myself before I showed it to anyone else.
This book is a representation of my blank yet chaotic mind.
