Imperialism, Sovereignty and the Making of International Law【電子書籍】[ Antony Anghie ]
|

This book argues that the colonial confrontation was central to the formation of international law and, in particular, its founding concept, sovereignty. Traditional histories of the discipline present colonialism and non-European peoples as peripheral concerns. By contrast, Anghie argues that international law has always been animated by the 'civilizing mission' - the project of governing non-European peoples, and that the economic exploitation and cultural subordination that resulted were constitutively significant for the discipline. In developing these arguments, the book examines different phases of the colonial encounter, ranging from the sixteenth century to the League of Nations period and the current 'war on terror'. Anghie provides a new approach to the history of international law, illuminating the enduring imperial character of the discipline and its continuing importance for peoples of the Third World. This book will be of interest to students of international law and relations, history, post-colonial studies and development studies.

The new politics of Poland A case of post-traumatic sovereignty【電子書籍】[ Jaroslaw Kuisz ]
|

The election of populist far-right party Law and Justice in 2015 marked a shocking break in Polish politics. A period of stability was brutally interrupted as Jaroslaw Kaczynski and his allies took over public media and launched a controversial ‘reform’ of the judiciary.

How was this illiberal turn possible after years of democratic development? Jaroslaw Kuisz, one of Poland’s leading liberal thinkers, digs deep into Polish history to propose an original analysis of the crisis. He reveals how centuries of statelessness have left Poles with a ‘post-traumatic’ attitude to sovereignty, making them wary of powerful foreign blocks, be it the EU, the Soviet Union or present-day Russia. This is a phenomenon populists have proved adept at exploiting.

Providing a brilliant account of Europe’s largest illiberal democracy, The new politics of Poland shines a light on the broader situation in East and Central Europe, offering valuable lessons for other countries experiencing the rise of populist right-wing movements.

Who Rules? Sovereignty, Nationalism, and the Fate of Freedom in the Twenty-First Century【
|

The populist phenomenon is often identified with the election of Donald Trump in November 2016. But the political, moral, and social realities for which Trump was a symbol both predated his candidacy and achieved independent fulfillment in countries as disparate as the United Kingdom, Hungary, and Brazil.

At the center of the populist challenge, this volume proposes, are two questions. The first revolves around the question of sovereignty: who governs a country? This question is at the center of all contemporary populist initiatives and has been posed with increasing urgency as the bureaucratic burden of what has come to be called the administrative state has intruded more and more forcefully upon the political and social life of Western democracies.

The second key question, one related to the issue of sovereignty, concerns what Lincoln called “public sentiment”: the widespread, almost taken-for-granted yet nonetheless palpable affirmation by a people of their national identity. The erosion of national sovereignty to which populism is a response has been accompanied by an erosion of that shared national consensus. Increasingly, the traditional pillars of this consensusーthe binding forces of family, religion, civic duty, and patriotic filiationーhave faltered before the blandishments of transnational progressivism.

The debate sparked by these problems has turned on a number of high-profile issues which this volume seeks to address, including immigration, free trade, foreign policy, religious freedom, and the question of citizenship.

Home Rule National Sovereignty and the Separation of Natives and Migrants【電子書籍】[ Nandita Sharma ]
|

In Home Rule Nandita Sharma traces the historical formation and political separation of Natives and Migrants from the nineteenth century to the present to theorize the portrayal of Migrants as “colonial invaders.” The imperial-state category of Native, initially a mark of colonized status, has been revitalized in what Sharma terms the Postcolonial New World Order of nation-states. Under postcolonial rule, claims to autochthonyーbeing the Native “people of a place”ーare mobilized to define true national belonging. Consequently, Migrantsーthe quintessential “people out of place”ーincreasingly face exclusion, expulsion, or even extermination. This turn to autochthony has led to a hardening of nationalism(s). Criteria for political membership have shrunk, immigration controls have intensified, all while practices of expropriation and exploitation have expanded. Such politics exemplify the postcolonial politics of national sovereignty, a politics that Sharma sees as containing our dreams of decolonization. Home Rule rejects nationalisms and calls for the dissolution of the ruling categories of Native and Migrant so we can build a common, worldly place where our fundamental liberty to stay and move is realized.

American Indian Sovereignty and the U.S. Supreme Court The Masking of Justice【電子書籍】[ David E. Wilkins ]
|

"Like the miner's canary, the Indian marks the shift from fresh air to poison gas in our political atmosphere; and our treatment of Indians, even more than our treatment of other minorities, reflects the rise and fall in our democratic faith," wrote Felix S. Cohen, an early expert in Indian legal affairs.

In this book, David Wilkins charts the "fall in our democratic faith" through fifteen landmark cases in which the Supreme Court significantly curtailed Indian rights. He offers compelling evidence that Supreme Court justices selectively used precedents and facts, both historical and contemporary, to arrive at decisions that have undermined tribal sovereignty, legitimated massive tribal land losses, sanctioned the diminishment of Indian religious rights, and curtailed other rights as well.

These case studiesーand their implications for all minority groupsーmake important and troubling reading at a time when the Supreme Court is at the vortex of political and moral developments that are redefining the nature of American government, transforming the relationship between the legal and political branches, and altering the very meaning of federalism.

Sovereignty and the Denial of International Equality Writing Civilisational Difference in Early Modern International Relations【電子書籍】[ Xavier Mathieu ]
|

This book asks whether sovereignty can guarantee international equality by exploring the discourses of sovereignty and their reliance on the notions of civilisation and savagery in two historical colonial encounters: the French explorations of Canada in the 16th century and the domestic troubles linked to the Wars of Religion.

Presenting the concept of ‘civilised sovereignty’, Mathieu reveals the interplay between the domestic and external claims to sovereignty, and offers a dynamic analysis of the theory and practice of the concept. Based on extensive archival research, this book provides an in-depth intellectual picture of the theory and practice of sovereignty in early modern France by focusing on the discourses deployed by French political theorists. Mathieu applies performativity in order to denaturalise these discourses of statehood and reveals how the domestic and international constructions of sovereignty feed into one another and equally rely on appeals to civilisation and savagery. Overall, the book questions the ‘myth of sovereignty as equality’ and reflects on the persistence of this association despite the overwhelming empirical evidence that it institutes international hierarchies and inequalities.

Representing a major intervention in the existing IR debates about sovereignty, this book will be a valuable resource for researchers working on issues of sovereignty and equality in IR.

The Discourse of Sovereignty, Hobbes to Fielding The State of Nature and the Nature of the State【電子書籍】[ Stuart Sim ]

In this new study the authors examine a range of theories about the state of nature in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century England, considering the contribution they made to the period's discourse on sovereignty and their impact on literary activity. Texts examined include Leviathan, Oceana, Paradise Lost, Discourses Concerning Government, Two Treatises on Government, Don Sebastian, Oronooko, The New Atalantis, Robinson Crusoe, Dissertation upon Parties, David Simple, and Tom Jones. The state of nature is identified as an important organizing principle for narratives in the century running from the Civil War through to the second Jacobite Rebellion, and as a way of situating the author within either a reactionary or a radical political tradition. The Discourse of Sovereignty provides an exciting new perspective on the intellectual history of this fascinating period.

An Encroaching Sea Nature, Sovereignty and Development at the Edge of British India 1860?1950【電子書籍】[ Devika Shankar ]

Ecological and political instability have time and again emerged as catalysts for risky development projects along India's south-west coastline. Devika Shankar probes this complicated relationship between crisis and development through a focus on a port development project executed in Cochin in the first quarter of the twentieth century amidst significant political and ecological uncertainty. While ecological concerns were triggered by increasing coastal erosion, a political crisis was precipitated by a neighbouring princely state's unprecedented attempt to extend its sovereignty over the British port. This integrative environmental, legal, and political history brings together the history of British India and the princely states to show how these anxieties ultimately paved the way for an ambitious port development project in the final years of colonial rule. In the process it deepens our understanding of environmental transformations and development in modern South Asia and the uneven nature of colonial sovereignty.

Fueling Sovereignty Colonial Oil and the Creation of Unlikely States【電子書籍】[ Naosuke Mukoyama ]
|

European colonialism was often driven by the pursuit of natural resources, and the resulting colonization and decolonization processes have had a profound impact on the formation of the majority of sovereign states that exist today. But how exactly have natural resources influenced the creation of formerly colonized states? And would the world map of sovereign states look significantly different if not for these resources? These questions are at the heart of Fueling Sovereignty, which focuses primarily on oil as the most significant natural resource of the modern era. Naosuke Mukoyama provides a compelling analysis of how colonial oil politics contributed to the creation of some of the world's most “unlikely” states. Drawing on extensive archival sources on Brunei, Qatar and Bahrain, he sheds light on how some small colonial entities achieved independence despite their inclusion in a merger project promoted by the metropole and regional powers.

Immigration and the Politics of American Sovereignty, 1890-1990【電子書籍】[ Cheryl Lynne Shanks ]
|

What does it mean to be an American? The United States defines itself by its legal freedoms; it cannot tell its citizens who to be. Nevertheless, where possible, it must separate citizen from alien. In so doing, it defines the desirable characteristics of its citizens in immigration policy, spelling out how many and, most importantly, what sorts of persons can enter the country with the option of becoming citizens.

Over the past century, the U.S. Congress argued first that prospective citizens should be judged in terms of race, then in terms of politics, then of ideology, then of wealth and skills. Each argument arose in direct response to a perceived foreign threat--a threat that was, in the government's eyes, racial, political, ideological, or economic. Immigration and the Politics of American Sovereignty traces how and why public arguments about immigrants changed over time, how some arguments came to predominate and shape policy, and what impact these arguments have had on how the United States defines and defends its sovereignty.

Cheryl Shanks offers readers an explanation for immigration policy that is more distinctly political than the usual economic and cultural ones. Her study, enriched by the insights of international relations theory, adds much to our understanding of the notion of sovereignty and as such will be of interest to scholars of international relations, American politics, sociology, and American history.

Cheryl Shanks is Assistant Professor of Political Science, Williams College.

Reservation Reelism Redfacing, Visual Sovereignty, and Representations of Native Americans in Film【電子書籍】[ Michelle H. Raheja ]

|

In this deeply engaging account Michelle H. Raheja offers the first book-length study of the Indigenous actors, directors, and spectators who helped shape Hollywood’s representation of Indigenous peoples. Since the era of silent films, Hollywood movies and visual culture generally have provided the primary representational field on which Indigenous images have been displayed to non-Native audiences. These films have been highly influential in shaping perceptions of Indigenous peoples as, for example, a dying race or as inherently unable or unwilling to adapt to change. However, films with Indigenous plots and subplots also signify at least some degree of Native presence in a culture that largely defines Native peoples as absent or separate.

Native actors, directors, and spectators have had a part in creating these cinematic representations and have thus complicated the dominant, and usually negative, messages about Native peoples that films portray. In Reservation Reelism Raheja examines the history of these Native actors, directors, and spectators, reveals their contributions, and attempts to create positive representations in film that reflect the complex and vibrant experiences of Native peoples and communities.

Parishioners of Sovereignty A History of Nationhood and War in Nineteenth-Century Paraguay【電子書籍】[ Michael Kenneth Huner ]
|

The story of nineteenth-century Paraguay is the story of the dawn of modern nationhood in the worldーand a devastating war is the culmination of this tale. The War of the Triple Alliance (1864?70), considered the bloodiest interstate conflict in the history of the Americas, pitted Paraguay against the combined forces of imperial Brazil and the republics of Argentina and Uruguay. By the end of the war, Paraguay was defeated and occupied, losing more than half its total population. Why, then, did everyday people in nineteenth-century Paraguay join and endure the violence and trauma associated with postcolonial sovereignty?

In Parishioners of Sovereignty Michael Kenneth Huner answers this question. He explores how modern nationhood became a living, breathing reality among everyday people in Paraguay even as such bonds of sovereignty remained fluid and contingent in the years leading up to and during the war. Although conventional history still portrays Paraguay’s experience in the conflict as the result of a precocious cultural and ethnolinguistic-based nationalism, Huner argues in contrast that religion and republicanism rendered modern nationhood a moral imperative for which everyday Paraguayans worked, died, killed, and subverted. By tracing the complex interplay of religion, republicanism, and local social history that created the Paraguayan nation and state, and utilizing unique sources in the Guaran? language, Parishioners of Sovereignty casts crucial new light on the social history of early nation-building throughout the Americas.

Schmitt on Sovereignty and the State of Exception A Commentary on Carl Schmitt's 'Politische Theologie'【電子書籍】[ Christopher Adair-Toteff ]

This Palgrave Pivot offers a balanced and impartial commentary on one of the most important of the early writings by the German legal scholar Carl Schmitt. The book is known mostly by its title Politische Theologie but Schmitt’s subtitle indicated that his book was on more than political theology, but was focused on conceptions of sovereignty, authority, and the ‘state of exception’.

The author shows how the Politische Theologie published in 1922 clearly formulated Schmitt’s thinking regarding decisionism, dictatorship, and sovereignty, and how these notions intertwined to propose a governmental model opposed to parliamentary democracy. The book illuminates Carl Schmitt’s role in theorising the ‘state of exception’ as he engaged in debates with those who contended that democratic principles were crucial. Schmitt insisted there needs to be a sovereign individual whose authority provides an immediate decision to the ‘state of exception.’ This book will be of interest to scholars of legal and political philosophy, as well as those interested broadly in ideas of classical liberalism, wartime political economy, authoritarianism and socio-economic influences on legal thinking.

Viral Sovereignty and the Political Economy of Pandemics What Explains How Countries Handle Outbreaks?【電子書籍】[ Sophal Ear ]
|

Over the past few decades a number of emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) have disrupted societies throughout the world, including HIV, Ebola, H5N1 (or ‘‘avian flu’’) and SARS, and of course the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) which spread worldwide to become a global pandemic. As well as EIDs, countries and regions also contend with endemic diseases, such as malaria. There are many factors that have contributed to the rise in, and spread of, EIDs and other diseases, including overpopulation, rapid urbanization, environmental degradation, and antibiotic resistance. Political and cultural responses to disease can greatly affect their spread. The global community needs to defend itself against disease threats: one weak link is enough to start a chain reaction that results in a global pandemic such as COVID-19. Some states take a nationalistic approach towards combating disease; however, international cooperation and meaningful ‘‘viral sovereignty’’ーempowering countries to create effective health institutions and surveillance systems in order to contain diseaseーmust be considered.

This volume, with a focus on Southeast Asia, Africa and North America, considers the intersection between disease, politics, science, and culture in the global battle against pandemics, making use of case studies and interviews to examine the ways in which governments and regions handle outbreaks and pandemics.

Sovereignty and the Limits of the Liberal Imagination【電子書籍】[ Scott G Nelson ]
|

This volume examines and critiques several of the classical theoretical foundations of domestic and international organization, concentrating on the contestable conceptions of community, order, justice, freedom, responsibility and wealth developed by the major political theorists of the modern epoch.

Nelson argues that the accepted discourses of world politics are constructed by way of particular interpretive negotiations of what sovereign power is and what it must be made to accomplish in domestic and world politics. Providing a Foucaultian analysis of modern power and the liberal subject, the work traces the history of modern inquiries into sovereignty to a time when the state was being severed from a Christian eschatology, a time when political theorists sought ways of lending meaning and purpose to emerging conceptions of ‘the political.’

Modern theories of sovereignty, Nelson argues, embody the remainders of a deep worry over the precarious nature of legitimacy, the contingency of power, and the frailty of any political form. The theoretical traditions of liberalism and the Enlightenment dispense with anxiety over the politics of legitimacy by repressing the historical, constricting the political, and fashioning political rationalities suited to increasingly intimate and ever-expansive forms of liberal governance. This book aims to explore how modern theories of sovereignty elicit and effect governable subjects and forms of political community that have proven crucial to intensifying and expansive powers of the liberal state.

An inquiry into modern theories of sovereignty and statecraft and a critical interrogation of how political theories are invoked by the traditions of international relations across the modern era, this volume will be of interest to all scholars of political theory, political philosophy and international relations.

Sovereignty Unhinged An Illustrated Primer for the Study of Present Intensities, Disavowals, and Temporal Derangements【

|

Sovereignty Unhinged theorizes sovereignty beyond the typical understandings of action, control, and the nation-state. Rather than engaging with the geopolitical realities of the present, the contributors consider sovereignty from the perspective of how it is lived and enacted in everyday practice and how it reflects people’s aspirations for new futures. In a series of ethnographic case studies ranging from the Americas to the Middle East to South Asia, they examine the means of avoiding the political and historical capture that make one complicit with sovereign authority rather than creating the conditions of possibility to confront it. The contributors attend to the affective dimensions of these practices of world-building to illuminate the epistemological, ontological, and transnational entanglements that produce a sense of what is possible. They also trace how sovereignty is activated and deactivated over the course of a lifetime within the struggle of the everyday. In so doing, they outline how individuals create and enact forms of sovereignty that allow them to endure fast and slow forms of violence while embracing endless opportunities for building new worlds.

Contributors. Donald Trump: The Zion - A Beacon of Sovereignty and Destiny【電子書籍】[ Andre Maia ]

Donald J. Trump remains one of the most polarizing figures in modern history, a man whose life and legacy defy simple categorization. This book delves deep into the enigma of Trump, exploring the multifaceted layers of his journey from a brash New York real estate mogul to the 45th President of the United States and beyond. Through meticulous research, firsthand accounts, and a balanced lens, it seeks to unravel the forces that shaped his persona, decisions, and indelible impact on American politics and culture.

Born into a wealthy family in Queens, New York, in 1946, Trump inherited a keen business instinct and an unrelenting drive from his father, Fred Trump. Yet, it was his own audacity that propelled him into the public eye first as a flamboyant developer with an eye for luxury, then as a television icon with The Apprentice, and finally as a political disruptor who redefined the Republican Party. This narrative traces his early ventures, from the glittering heights of Trump Tower to the controversies of Atlantic City casinos, painting a vivid portrait of a man who thrived on risk and spectacle.

The book doesn't shy away from the complexities of Trump's presidency, a tenure marked by unprecedented upheaval and fervent loyalty. It examines key moments his unexpected 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton, the tax reforms, trade wars with China, and the polarizing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also confronts the darker chapters: the impeachment trials, the January 6th Capitol riot, and the ceaseless debates over his leadership style. Supporters see a champion of forgotten Americans; critics see a destabilizing force here, both perspectives are given room to breathe, supported by data, anecdotes, and the voices of those who worked alongside him.

Beyond the Oval Office, this work explores Trump's post-presidency, a period as dynamic as his time in power. His influence on the MAGA movement, his legal battles, and his hints at future political ambitions reveal a figure who refuses to fade from the spotlight. What drives this relentless energy? Is it ambition, resilience, or something deeper an unshakable belief in his own narrative? The book probes these questions, drawing on interviews, public records, and Trump's own words, often delivered in his signature unfiltered cadence.

This is not a hagiography nor a hatchet job. It's a comprehensive study of a man who became a symbol loved, loathed, and endlessly debated. Readers will find no easy answers, but rather a rich tapestry of events and insights that illuminate Trump's role in shaping a divided nation. From his gilded penthouses to the rally stages of Middle America, his story is a mirror reflecting the aspirations, fears, and contradictions of our time. Whether you view him as a titan or a tempest, this book invites you to see Donald Trump anew, through the lens of history still unfolding.

This book brings together leading Indigenous and allied thinkers, practitioners, and advocates to address the critical issue of the Right of Reply in archives ー foregrounding truth-telling, cultural safety, and Indigenous sovereignty across GLAM institutions.

Collecting institutions have shaped and maintained records produced by colonial systems of administration and continue to play a role in perpetuating colonial paradigms that are inherently resistant to the needs and priorities of Indigenous peoples. Against this backdrop, this book embarks on a scholarly investigation into the concept known as the 'Right of Reply.' This concept speaks to Indigenous peoples' right to update, correct, critique, or enhance Indigenous knowledge that is held in collecting institutions. Spanning creative responses, case studies, policy critiques, and international perspectives, the volume explores how the Right of Reply operates as a political and ethical imperative in the work of archives. Contributors examine Indigenous-led protocols, the impact of colonial recordkeeping, digital repatriation, metadata annotation, and structural transformation in Australia, Aotearoa, and the United States.

The volume offers a blueprint for decolonising archives and centring Indigenous agency, illuminating the innovative strategies being implemented across institutional and community settings. It is essential reading for archivists, curators, scholars, and anyone committed to transforming GLAM practice.

Against the Force Bill A Defiant Defense of State Sovereignty and Constitutional Law【電子書籍】[ John C. Calhoun ]
|

In "Against the Force Bill," John C. Calhoun articulates a robust defense of states' rights and opposition to federal overreach during a tumultuous period in American history. Written in the 1830s, amidst growing tensions between the federal government and southern states, Calhoun's treatise employs a clear, persuasive rhetorical style, drawing upon historical precedent and constitutional interpretation. His argument reflects the prevailing sentiments of the time, highlighting the philosophical divide between federal authority and state sovereignty, thus situating the work within the larger context of pre-Civil War America and the debates surrounding nullification and sectionalism. John C. Calhoun, a prominent politician and statesman from South Carolina, was a fierce advocate for southern interests and a proponent of limited government. Having served in various influential roles, including Vice President and Secretary of State, Calhoun'??s experiences shaped his belief in the necessity of protecting states' rights against what he perceived as a burgeoning federal tyranny. His writings reveal not only his political ideology but also a deep-seated commitment to the southern way of life and a warning against the dissolution of this identity within a unified national framework. "Against the Force Bill" is essential reading for those interested in American political philosophy, constitutional debates, and the roots of regional tensions. Calhoun's incisive analysis and passionate defense of his convictions beckon readers to reconsider the complexities of federalism and its implications for governance, making it a vital addition to any scholar's library.

Designing Criminal Tribunals Sovereignty and International Concerns in the Protection of Human Rights【電子書籍】[ Steven D. Roper ]
|

Tracing the development of international humanitarian law especially since World War II, this volume focuses on the role of the international community in crafting international and mixed war crimes tribunals. It examines the cases of the former Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Cambodia and East Timor. These tribunals are legal institutions embedded within a political environment in which the need for nation-state consensus can undermine their judicial effectiveness and ultimately the quest for justice. One of the principal themes examined is how the demands of state sovereignty and finance have contributed to the constant innovation of these tribunals. This is the only book available covering the breadth of cases and it places these institutions within the general development of international humanitarian law.

States, American Indian Nations, and Intergovernmental Politics Sovereignty, Conflict, and the Uncertainty of Taxes【電子書籍】[ Anne F. Boxberger Flaherty ]
|

American Indian nations are sovereign political entities within the United States. They have complex relationships with the federal government and increasingly with state governments. Regulatory conflict between Native nations and states has increased as Native nations have developed their own independent economies and some states have sought to assert their control over reservation territory. This book explores the intergovernmental conflict between Native nations and states, with a focus on the tension over the enforcement of state cigarette taxes for on-reservation sales. Anne F. Boxberger Flaherty asks: when do states and Native nations come to agreement, when do they disagree, and why are states sometimes willing to extend great efforts to assert their taxes on reservations?

Flaherty uses a multi-method approach, with a historical review of expanding state involvement on reservations, a quantitative analysis of state enforcement of cigarette taxes on reservations, and a qualitative analysis of several specific case studies, including the potential for intergovernmental conflict over marijuana cultivation and sales on reservations to answer these questions.

This book will be interest to scholars and researchers of Indigenous Politics, Native American Indian Politics, State Politics, and Intergovernmental Politics.

Cyber Sovereignty International Security, Mass Communication, and the Future of the Internet【電子書籍】[ Lev Topor ]
|

The internet has become a battleground for global power struggles, with nations and even terrorist organizations wielding cyber-attacks to exert control. As the absence of binding international laws and norms leaves cyberspace largely unchecked, countries are seeking to establish their Sovereign Cyber Domains (SCD) - tightly controlled cyberspaces. In this illuminating monograph, the author explores how Russia, China, Iran, and others perceive the internet as a means for the United States and its allies to maintain global dominance and influence foreign audiences, driving their pursuit of strict regulations over domestic cyber affairs and mass communication. Yet, even the United States is now susceptible to foreign cyber operations, mainly foreign influence that undermines its domestic affairs.

Even International Blocs like the European Union had expressed concerns about foreign influence and privacy rights abuses, leading to regulatory initiatives like the General Data Protection Regulation, Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act. As nations prioritize cybersecurity and sovereignty over free speech and convenience, the book predicts a future of increased regulation across all layers of the cyber domain, mirroring the historical emergence of the concept of sovereignty.

Drawing on a combination of political science, international relations, and cyber domain practices, this monograph offers valuable insights for policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and students. By analyzing existing cyber sovereignty processes and predicting future trends, the book contributes to international relations theories, sheds light on the challenges of an unregulated cyber domain, and provides guidance for a secure and controlled digital future.

Recipient of the Israel Political Science Association (ISPSA) Annual Best Book Award.
