Why Would You Lead Me On?【電子書籍】[ T. Collins ]

The purpose of this book was to show the reader not to accept less than what they deserve. Some people think they need to settle because they have children with someone, the sex is too good, or they do not want to start over again. This book shows that when you make these mistakes, the outcome can lead to some alarming results. You have to ask yourself, is the person leading you on, or are you asking so much from a person who is not ready to be in a relationship. Sometimes people unknowingly force someone in a relationship by being emotional, and the person who will not commit will feel obligated based on your emotions. I have also noticed that some people desire one thing initially and later change their minds without the other individual knowing. Never try so hard to keep someone who does not want to be maintained. I want people to read this so they can see the signs and understand their worth. You do not have to be bitter off one person when there are millions to choose from every day. Again, some people love the attention, and someone else can give you the same kindness. If you knowingly see that you are second, do not stay with that person. It will only get worse. This book does not have chapters because I am different. I want you to feel as if you are there and not just reading the book.

It Takes 2: Who Is Helping You Lead?【電子書籍】[ Ramone Harper ]

"It takes 2 to make a thing go right! It takes 2 to make it out of sight!"1 Those lyrics are from a 1988 Top 40 platinum-selling song by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock, who initially made the song with samples from another song written in 1972 by James Brown and performed by Lyn Collins called "Think (About It)." These lyrics succinctly sum up my convictions as an executive leader. Over the last 20 years, I have served in various executive leadership positions from the federal government to the nonprofit sector to the corporate world, and I felt the need to share experiences??mine and those of others??that have contributed to the success of those organizations. If the greatest basketball player of all times is Michael Jordan, then I would say he never won a ring until Scottie Pippen matured as his sidekick. It may take one to lead a great organization, but it takes two to make it out of sight. It Takes 2: Who is Helping You Lead? is designed to help senior leaders understand the need for having quality executive support leaders on their team and how to find them. Also, the book is designed to inspire and encourage those who serve in executive leadership support roles (affectionately referred to as the 2man or woman) to embrace their uniqueness in helping lead their organizations from the second, third, or fourth chair. These objectives are what sets this book apart from other titles on the same subject because it is written to both leaders and their supporters. In 2006, I talked with Odell Dickerson and Derrick Noble about the need for developing resources to help train and encourage people who serve in roles similar to theirs because there wasn't much material out there. We also noticed how many secondary leaders lacked the training, support, and resources to help them be successful in their unique position. Most conferences and books are targeted to senior leaders but not to the executive support leadership staff. Along the journey, I saw great executive support leaders help lead the companies that they worked for, experience the best that life has to offer and make major impact without having to be impressive. They were some of the greatest leaders, creative minds, innovators, and game-changers that I had met. The world has felt their impact but just may not have known their names. But when I went back to learn from these leaders and to be enamored by their work, in most cases, I discovered that they were no longer serving in those positions. Instead, they had transitioned to what they perceived as a promotion or an elevation of sorts. Yes, you guessed it. They had left the #2 seat in order to become a #1; and, sadly, in more than 90 percent of those cases, they have never been heard of again. I am a firm believer that it does take two (and three and four and more) to make things go right in an organization. Whether in the corporate world, the religious sector, nonprofit organizations, government, sports, and entertainment, no one man or woman can build a winning tradition without help. My objective in writing this book is a dual one. I want to help senior leaders (whom I refer to as 1s) understand the need for having quality executive support leaders on their team and how to find them. And I want to inspire and encourage those who serve in executive leadership support roles (whom I affectionately refer to as 2Men, or 2s) to embrace their uniqueness in helping lead their organizations from the second, third, or fourth chair. I am motivated because I am tired of seeing great 2s leave their posts to become ordinary 1s.

The Advice Trap: Be Humble, Stay Curious & Change the Way You Lead Forever【電子書籍】[ Michael Bungay Stanier ]

Hi there, it's Michael, the author. You might know my previous book, The Coaching Habit. It was an unexpected bestseller: more than 700,000 copies sold so far, 1,000+ 5-star reviews on Amazon (my favourite: "I have plodded through many books that wish they could be this book"), a Wall Street Journal bestseller, and used by people and organizations around the world. So I've been sweating on the follow-up. The pressure! The anticipation! But here it is, and I think you're going to like it. If The Coaching Habit says, “here are the seven essential questions to be more coach-like,” The Advice Trap is about getting to grips with how to actually change your behaviour so you stay curious a little bit longer. It sounds like it should be easy, but it's not. You have to tame your Advice Monster, that part of you that jumps in to offer up ideas, opinions, suggestions and advice. And it's taming your Advice Monster that's at the heart of this book. But there are also some specific coaching strategies, particularly on how to focus on what matters most. There are tools to make your conversations, coaching and otherwise, irresistible. There are even resources beyond the book itself, including a one-year, free leadership program from a 52-person faculty of cool, diverse, and provocative thinkers. In 2019, I was named the #1 Thought Leader in Coaching, and was short-listed for the coaching award by Thinkers50, the “Oscars of Management.” My work's been featured in journals such as HBR, Fast Company, Forbes, and Inc., and my company, Box of Crayons, has trained more than 100,000 people just like you in the tools and mindset required for this essential leadership behaviour: being more coach-like. You'll get all of that wisdom and experience when you read The Advice Trap. I'm pretty sure you'll find it a great investment of your money and time. (And, by the way, thank you in advance for buying it. I'm thrilled to know the book is going out into the world.)

Equip to Serve 100 Ways to Help the Ones You Lead【電子書籍】[ Art Barter ]

"We didn't start the Servant Leadership Institute to become a consultant company or a leadership training company. We started it to share our knowledge of what we learned in implementing servant leadership."

-- Art Barter

Our journey into servant leadership began in 2004 with Art Barter's purchase of Datron World Communications. At that time, he was determined to create a new leadership environment, and over the next several years, that dream came true. With it came great success and significance. As a member of Art's leadership team, I had the privilege of participating in this culture shift to servant leadership.

Through the creation of the Servant Leadership Institute, we have been able to show many aspiring servant leaders "how to do" servant leadership. One way we answered the "how-to" question was to publish a series of weekly leadership tips based on our experiences at Datron.

The audience for these tips responded so positively, we decided to publish them in book form. We are honored to present the tips to you and ask you to make them a part of your leadership life. Discover how to live and lead with a servant's heart each and every day.

About the Author

Art Barter believes "how you get the results is more important than the results themselves." To teach people about the power of servant leadership, Art started in his own backyard by rebuilding the culture of the manufacturing company he bought in 2004, Datron World Communications. Art took Datron's traditional power-led model and turned it upside down. Together with his management team, he began to serve first. The result: a small international radio manufacturer grew from a $10 million company to a $200 million company in six years. In late 2016, Datron received a record $495 million order which Art feels is a direct result of the company's servant leadership culture.

Fueled by his passion for servant leadership and the lessons learned from the implementation of Datron's culture shift, Art founded the Servant Leadership Institute (SLI) in 2008 as a vehicle to share his knowledge and to teach others how to inspire and equip those they influence.

As an authority on servant leadership implementation, Art shares his expertise in business books, on websites, through podcasts, and in articles. Currently he is a contributor to the digital magazine Forbes.com. Art is the author of Farmer Able: A Fable About Servant Leadership Transforming Organizations And People From The Inside Out, The Servant Leadership Journal: An 18 Week Journey To Transform You and Your Organization, and The Art of Servant Leadership II: How You Get Results Is More Important Than the Results Themselves.

Art was recognized in 2015 as one of the top thirty leaders named to the John C. Maxwell Leadership Awards. He has also been named by Trust Across America as one of the Top Thought Leaders In Trust for 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Carol Malinski made the critical decision that would change the course of her life In 1996 when she accepted a position at Datron World Communications. As part of the material planning team, Carol rose within the company, becoming part of the leadership team that took Datron to a $200-million company in six years.

In 2013, Carol became part of the team at the Servant Leadership Institute, making the move from material planning to writer, podcast and webinar host, and director of content and curriculum. Equip to Serve came from her desire to share with others what she observed and learned during the last sixteen years of servant leadership practice under Art's leadership.

The Wolf in Their Pockets 13 Ways the Social Internet Threatens the People You Lead【電子書籍】[ Chris Martin ]

The world has changed. And we feel it in our homes, schools, and congregations.

We can hardly remember a time when we didn’t feel the influence of that back pocket device. The average social media user spends about two-and-a-half hours a day using social media. That’s more than enough time to shape our values and desires. Pastors, teachers, and parents feel their influence slipping away. We’re seeing increased loneliness, disunity, and self-absorption. But where do we go from here?

In The Wolf in Their Pockets, Internet expert Chris Martin examines the many ways we are being changed by social media. With a biblically informed voice, Martin both exposes the ways the Internet is distorting our life in Christ and shows us how to faithfully respond. Martin teaches us how to care for people who are obsessed with followers, views, and likesーand how to love those whose online influences have filled them with cynicism and contempt. Martin looks at how the social Internet is changing how we understand sex and beautyーwhat to do about the epidemic levels of anxietyーand how to redirect our hearts to worship Jesus Christ.

Shepherding and leading people has never been easy, but the social Internet has brought new challenges. We need the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit and a powerful prayer life. Martin provides the biblical wisdom, direction, and hope necessary to combat The Wolf in Their Pockets.
