It continues with Johanna Doderer ("Break on through" 2015), Gordon Hamilton ("Romeo & Juliet in Sarajevo" 2017) and Nikolai Kapustin ("Burlesque" op. 97, "Elegy" op. 96, "Nearly Waltz" op. 98). The end of the recording is a prayer of love. Piazzolla's instrumental "Ave Maria" was written in 1984 as part of the music for the film "Enrico IV" based on the play by Luigi Pirandello and was dedicated to the actress Claudia Cardinale. However, we have chosen to record this collection with modern instruments such as the oboe and the piano. At a time when many people in the world are bound by the borders of their countries and crossing borders has become an important issue, I decided to record this collection. I want to express in my own language and with my music that music belongs to all countries of the world and knows no borders, and that one can clearly hear and realize similarities in the music of different countries. Antonio Pasculli's very special ideas and creativity shine through in his works. He challenges the musician in various ways, such as high tempi or the use of circular breathing. Perhaps for this reason, the works of this great Italian composer are very rarely performed and recorded. The Persian composer Reza Vali wrote several collections of Persian music for orchestra and chamber orchestra, including a collection of new Persian folk music. The second collection consisting of nine Persian folk songs was composed in 1981. The folk songs are based on traditional Persian melodies. In this collection Reza Vali uses the quarter-tone technique. These Persian folk pieces are performed and recorded here for the first time with the oboe. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the composers of this collection with this recording of their works. He has already recorded his complete piano works and the two piano concertos. Together with Rainer Wolters on the violin, he now presents the two violin sonatas, which are complemented here by an original composition. Jurg Hanselmann received his first music lessons at the Liechtensteiner Music School in Vaduz. His earliest compositions date from this time. At the age of seventeen, he entered the Bern Conservatory, Switzerland and studied piano with Albert Schneeberger and Kristina Steinegger, also Harmony and Counterpoint with Erwin Hochuli. He received his Teaching Diploma in the spring of 1980 and in the following summer, the Soloist Diploma with Distinction. To further his pianistic studies, he went to London to study with the Hungarian pianist Louis Kentner and to Frankfurt with the Russian pianist Irina Edelstein. Elena Kuschnerova was the last pianistic discovery of Harold Schonberg (1915-2003), music critic for the New York Times and prolific author on great performers.
