The Love that Will Not Let You Go Being Christian is Not What You Think【電子書籍】[ Paul Douglas Heidt ]

This book is an alternative to what passes for Christianity in movies, television, videos, novels, political campaigns, and, sadly, in many churches. It is for Christians, people of other faiths, and people of no faiths. It is for those who have given up on religion and those with secret doubts about concepts and biblical narratives most Christians seem to believe easily. Douglas Heidt contends that traditional Christian theology deals primarily with intellectual conclusions and emotion, leaving seekers with the idea that if they believe certain propositions, and love God, they will lead safe, happy lives, and go to heaven when they die. But this book argues that Jesus didn't teach a theological or ecclesiastical system. By his words and life he simply revealed a way to live, the way God created life to be lived, the life of sacrificial, eternal, universal love, kindness, forgiveness, justice, and compassion. Life's goal is not to believe certain things and go to heaven. Life's goal is to love your neighbor. This uncomplicated assertion has crucial implications for the church, how we understand the Bible, the Christian story, and the Christian life and its conclusion. It presents ideas that may be challenging, and describes how being Christian is not what you think, it's what you do.

The Bird's Christmas Carol “It is very funny, but you do not always have to see people to love them. Just think about it, and see if it isn't so.”?【電子書籍】[ Kate Douglas Wiggin ]

Kate Douglas Wiggin was born in Philadelphia on September 28, 1856. As an adult she devoted her life to the welfare of children many of whom were badly treated and thought of as more a source of cheap expendable labour than minds to be nourished and expanded. By 1878 she had started what was then the first free kindergarten in San Francisco. Of course as well as being active in social reform and education she is a very well known authoress. Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm being her most credited creation. Here we publish a less well known but equally admired book that captures life from a youthful perspective. In the spring of 1923 Kate travelled to England as a New York delegate to the Dickens Fellowship. There she became ill with bronchial pneumonia and died, at the age of 66. Her ashes were taken home to Maine and scattered over the Saco River. Here we publish her delightful volume 'The Bird's Christmas Carol'.

Act Like A Lady, Do Not Think Like A Man The True Measure of How Men and Women View Love, Intimacy, Relationships and Faith【電子書籍】[ Raymond Sturgis ]

Love is a beautiful gift that many people search for a lifetime to experience. However, the hardship and disappointment in relationships and marriage lead them down roads that stymie their ability to attain love. The fame comedian Steve Harvey wrote the book ACT LIKE A LADY, THINK LIKE A MAN, and his book and movie did not prove why women should think like men. However, it revealed the obvious, that when women tried to think like men, they lost their individuality and wisdom, which invigorate their quality. This book is not a direct attack on the validity of the fame comedian; however, it is Raymond Sturgis continuation of the conversation, why should women think like men?

How to Think Like a Woman Four Women Philosophers Who Taught Me How to Love the Life of the Mind【電子書籍】[ Regan Penaluna ]

As a young woman growing up in a small, religious community, Regan Penaluna daydreamed about the big questions: Who are we and what is this strange world we find ourselves in? In college she discovered philosophy and fell in love with its rationality, its abstractions, its beauty.

What Penaluna didn't realize was that philosophy - at least the canon that's taught in Western universities, as well as the culture that surrounds it - would slowly grind her down through its devaluation of women and their minds. Women were nowhere in her curriculum, and feminist philosophy was dismissed as marginal, unserious.

Until Penaluna came across the work of a seventeenth-century woman named Damaris Cudworth Masham. Reading Masham's work was like reaching through time: writing three hundred years ago, Masham was speaking directly to her about knowledge and God, but also the condition of women. Her work eventually led Penaluna to other remarkable women philosophers of the era: Mary Astell, Catharine Cockburn and Mary Wollstonecraft.

Together these women rekindled Penaluna's love of philosophy and taught her how to live a truly philosophical life. She combines memoir with biography to tell the stories of these four women, weaving throughout an alternative history of philosophy as well as her own search for beauty and truth. Formally inventive and keenly intelligent, How to Think Like a Woman is a moving meditation on what philosophy could look like if women were treated equally.

Heaven is Closer than You Think Love Letters to the World Volume 2【電子書籍】[ Fred Blom ]

This is a Testimony of real life, not games or movies. The majority of the people in the world don't believe in the one and only God. Then there are fewer, which believe in Jesus Christ. Of that group, how many drift in and out of this commitment. How many worship with their lips, but not their hearts. My parents and relatives fell into the group of there is no God, just nature and the natural renewal of its cycle. For me curiosity was the thing. I had to know the beginning and end of everything, step by step. It's the way I am built! I want every breath and every step I take, to be closer to Jesus Christ. Walk with me and we will see how close heaven really is to us.

Why write this testimony of life? Well, we all have the happy and sad, the hard and easy and the close to God, weather we are aware of it or not and the far from God, which we do not understand. Just a few weeks ago I ask my Father in heaven if I should continue to write the 1st Testimonials each month or perhaps even reveal the deep things, which have helped me thru life. In the process and time of seven days I was shown how the hidden secrets of heaven work. To me it's funny, serious and truthful!

I work on my testimonials stories at night. It was the hand of God, that leads me to do that, no doubt and you will learn that a little later. There are always more people to give them to, than I can accomplish. Maybe I should put them in a book for everyone Father. I don't have time or know how... I felt like a tap in the back of my head, when I prayed that. I slapped my hand over my mouth, trying to take it back, at the same time I looked behind myself to see if something had fallen off the wall. I stopped praying, took a big sigh and went to sleep. Why did I say too busy? I wrestled all night with, "the secrets of heaven are my Lord Jesus Christ's, but that which he gives us are ours.

For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. (Luke 12:2)

I was referred to recently as the little lion, which would not roar and the lost generation. Then a voice stood up for me and said, "No, this is the one who walks the dusty road. I wanted to respond, but I fell to the ground in weakness, because of the awesomeness around me. I was shown the loss of mankind and told to go forth with the testimony I was given. I cry and pray with great supplication, before the heavenly throne of our savior, Jesus Christ. I don't want anyone to be lost!

Even though I have learned many things and seen many things, the ultimate purpose is the salvation of the soul. Many things are wonderful and thrilling and most assuredly can be beyond ones metal capability. A pillar of light revealed one night and the protection from 220 volts the next day. Falling down a 100 foot silo chute and being caught in mid-air, revealing of the Holy Spirit to change on lookers hearts in an instant. Even close deaths being miraculously healed by the Holy Spirit. This has brought about dozens of hearts and souls with life changing results.

The value of a soul may seem difficult to understand, but it isn't hard at all. The angles in heaven give ultimate joy and praise to the King of glory for the salvation of just one soul. The creation of people shall come to an end and judgment shall fall. The number of saved souls shall be small in number, compared to those that lived. You may think a body is marvelous, but the soul is a 1000 times 10,000 times more magnificent. Capabilities and wonders that stagger the mind! Even I have taken the soul for granite and continually fights the good fight. The most important thing in life is the salvation of your soul. Fred wants you to fight for it!

Love in Christ, Fred

If Love Could Think Using Your Mind to Guide Your Heart【電子書籍】[ Alon Gratch ]

A groundbreaking book about why the one thing we all fearーambivalenceーis the one thing we must accept to find lasting love.

If Love Could Think is an entertaining and practical book that addresses with warmth and intelligence the age-old question relevant to any stage of a relationship: why does love go wrong, and what can we do to make it right?

After many years of treating patients with relationship problems, psychologist Alon Gratch has identified seven common patterns of failed love. These patterns include, for example, narcissistic love, when a person has so idealized the partner and the relationship that they can’t possibly continue to measure up; one-way love, when a person loves someone who doesn’t return that love; triangular love, when a third party, be it a mother, an affair, or a job is involved in the relationship; and forbidden love, the kind of relationship that is generally off-limits, such as when a teacher dates a student. In If Love Could Think, Gratch shows us that all of these patterns stem from one fundamental problemーour own ambivalence.

With his trademark combination of depth and humor, and using many individual stories as engaging examples, Gratch walks us through the ways we get stuck in these patterns. In each case we are looking for perfect or ideal love. Every pattern creates an obstacle so we don’t have to face our own ambivalence about the relationship or the other person. But humans aren’t perfect, so no matter how wonderful love can be, there is no such thing as pure love. Ambivalence implies the existence not only of love but also of anger, disapproval, or disappointment. As Dr. Gratch shows, there are really only two choices: accept ambivalence as part of any loving relationship, or continue to repeat the patterns of illusory love. Happily, using a simple yet powerful three-step approach, If Love Could Think helps readers to use their own minds to break these patterns of failed relationships and find real and lasting love.

It's Not About Love (at least not the way you think)【電子書籍】[ Jamie Murray ]

When someone betrays you, it has nothing to do with love, or lack thereof. Well, at least not in the way you think.

In this raw, vulnerable book that's part memoir, part crisis-management guide, Jamie Murray, best-selling author of How Many Kids Do You Have? is once again saying out loud what so many of us are managing in silence. She reveals that when someone is unfaithful in a relationship, it has nothing to do with a lack of love for their partner and everything to do with a lack of love for themselves.

In the aftermath of infidelity, it's easy to allow hate to lead the way. But what if we could stop focusing on why we've been cheated on, how someone could do this to us, and whether our partner ever really loved us and instead focus on loving ourselves more?

Through snarky wit and candid confessions, this book guides us through how to manage the trauma of betrayal without allowing it to define us.

When we can depersonalize the hurt of infidelity, when we can understand that it's not about love, we can better lead our families through the often-devastating consequences of someone else's actions. We can better manage our feelings and make healthier choices for ourselves and our families, which ultimately reminds us that we can't learn to love others until we learn to love ourselves first.

Jamie Murray is a best-selling author and the CFO of the commercial construction company she owns and operates with her husband in San Antonio, Texas. Jamie became a mother at seventeen years old and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master of arts degree in women's studies at Texas Woman's University in North Texas. Before becoming an entrepreneur and an author, Jamie was a high school English teacher for many years. Today, she spends her days juggling the demands of running a family and a company while building a brand centered around saying out loud what humans all over the world are managing in silence.

This book is not a direct attack of the validity of the fame comedian; however, it is Raymond Sturgis continuation of the conversation, why should women think like a man?
Moreover, women success in education, medicine and entrepreneurship is a valid indication that they achieve their success independent of what men think of them. Therefore, I submit to you, realistic analogies of why women should ACT LIKE LADY, and continue to make the world respect them for their intelligence and ability to transform this world. From faith, self-esteem, and intimacy, marriages and relationships can and will be empowered by the information in this book that evoke quality reasons why women would not be thought of inferior if they continue to think like themselves.

Many of these books are available in audio books that can be played in mp3 formats. go to: www.neweralinks.com/ to find you book today!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Raymond Sturgis hit the literary world fast with his hit collection of books, OPRAH (Love, Power, and Passion), WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU BLACK PEOPLE?,WHEN A BLACK WOMAN PRAYS,LETTERS FROM CONCERNED AMERICANS, BLACK WOMEN CAN CHANGE DIRECTIONS BY CHANGING CONDITIONS and many more.

Think Like a Golfer How to Explain My Love for Golf to My Wife or Significant Other【電子書籍】[ Arturo Lorde ]

Why is your partner completely captivated by a game that seems slow, quiet, and, let's be honest, confusing? Why does "just one round" turn into a half-day expedition filled with text alerts, post-game recaps, and more emotional ups and downs than a Netflix drama? If you've ever found yourself on the sidelines of your spouse or significant other's golf obsession, feeling frustrated, confused, or simply curious, then this book is for you. Think Like a Golfer: How to Explain My Love for Golf to My Wife or Significant Other is not your average sports book. It's a lighthearted, witty, and unexpectedly insightful journey into the mind of a golf lover, from someone who lives and breathes the game. Written by Arturo Lorde, an entrepreneur, adventurer, and real-life golf enthusiast, this book is a tribute to the game and a bridge of understanding for the people who love those who love golf. Arturo speaks directly to the significant others, whether you're married, dating, or somewhere in between, and gives a crash course on what golf is, how it works, and most importantly, why it matters so much. From hilarious stories of botched swings and competitive trash talk to genuine moments of growth, bonding, and therapeutic quiet on the course, Lorde explores how golf becomes more than just a hobby, it becomes a lifestyle. But this book isn't just for those who don't play. It's also for those who do. Whether you're the one up at 6 a.m. polishing your clubs, or the one waving goodbye from the porch wondering when your spouse will return, Think Like a Golfer will have you laughing, nodding, and saying "oh, so that's what this is all about." Each chapter peels back the curtain with humor and honesty: Why golfers are "hooked" (and what that really means) How a simple trip to the driving range becomes a lifelong obsession The real reason text messages don't get answered mid-round How the game can keep your partner out of trouble (yes, really) What it takes to become a golf partner, even if you don't pick up a club And perhaps most important of all: how understanding the mindset of a golfer can actually strengthen your relationship. Packed with personal anecdotes, practical insights, and laugh-out-loud moments, Think Like a Golfer offers something unique, clarity, connection, and even healing through the lens of a game most people don't fully understand. This is not just a book about golf. It's a love letter to relationships that endure despite the quirks, passions, and strange obsessions we all bring to the table. Whether you're trying to make peace with the game, understand the mind of your partner, or simply want to laugh your way through the fairway of life, Arturo Lorde delivers a perspective that's honest, relatable, and full of heart. So, the next time your partner grabs their clubs and says "just 18 holes," you'll not only smile, you might even want to ride along.

Love-Lyrics & Songs Of Home "Think of him still as the same, I say. He is not deadーhe is just away.”【電子書籍】[ James Whitcomb Riley ]

Poet and author James Whitcomb Riley was born on October 7th 1849 in Greenfield, Indiana. Better known as the “Hoosier Poet” for his work with regional dialects, and also as the “Children’s Poet” Riley was born into an influential and well off family. However his education was spotty but he was surrounded by creativity which was to stand him in good stead later in life. His early career was a series of low paid temporary jobs. After stints as a journalist and billboard proprietor he had the resources to dedicate more of his efforts to writing. Riley was prone to drink which was to affect his health and later his career but after a slow start and a lot of submissions he began to gain traction first in newspapers and then with the publication of his dialect poems ‘Boone County Poems’ he came to national recognition. This propelled him to long term contracts to perform on speaking circuits. These were very successful but over the years his star waned. In 1888 he was too drunk to perform and the ensuing publicity made everything seem very bleak for a while. However he overcame that and managed to re-negotiate his contracts so that he received his rightful share of the income and his wealth thereafter increased very quickly. A bachelor, Riley seems to have his writings as his only outlet, and although in his public performances he was well received, his publications were becoming seen as banal and repetitive and sales of these later works began to fall away. Eventually after his last tour in 1895 he retired to spend his final years in Indianapolis writing patriotic poetry. Now in poor health, weakened by years of heavy drinking, Riley, the Hoosier Poet died on July 23, 1916 of a stroke. In a final, unusual tribute, Riley lay in state for a day in the Indiana Statehouse, where thousands came to pay their respects. Not since Lincoln had a public personage received such a send-off. He is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Here we present Riley Love.
