Jahrhundert her. Was aber hat der Naturwissenschaftler und Poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe mit der Franz?sischen Revolution zu tun? Diese Arbeit soll sich mit der Frage besch?ftigen, welche Rolle Evolution und Revolution in Goethes Naturverst?ndnis gespielt haben und wie sich durch seine naturwissenschaftliche Haltung auch seine Meinung zur Franz?sischen Revolution und umgekehrt erkl?ren l?sst. Um dieser Frage auf den Grund zu gehen soll zuerst auf Goethes Selbstverst?ndnis als Naturwissenschaftler eingegangen werden, da ihn die Meisten eher als Poet kennen. Nachdem Goethes Verbindung zur Naturwissenschaft eingehend erl?utert wurde soll dann das ausschlaggebendste Beispiel f?r seine Einstellung zu Revolution und Evolution in Bezug auf die Naturwissenschaft erl?utert werden, n?mlich der Streit zwischen den Neptunisten und Vulkanisten (oftmals auch Plutonisten genannt).
