Secret Techniques For Controlling Sadness, Anger, Fear, Anxiety, And Other Emotions【電子書籍】[ Vlad Koros ]

Steering clear of abstract discourse, SECRET TECHNIQUES FOR CONTROLLING SADNESS, ANGER, FEAR, ANXIETY, AND OTHER EMOTIONS provides readers with specific, effective techniques for modifying unwanted emotions and eliminating them at will. These techniques are based on observation of how the mind and body actually work. Through examples drawn from everyday life, SECRET TECHNIQUES shows readers how emotions are triggered somatically, and it invites them to recall and observe similar events from their own lives. By observing their own emotional states and applying the techniques explained in the book, they can quickly begin to regulate their feelings for the better, intentionally modifying or even completely interrupting an unwanted emotion’s formation. The practice of these techniques offers much-needed relief to people whose lives are now limited by emotionsーworry, stress, fearーthat they cannot control. Reset reflects author’s nearly 20 years of Buddhist meditation experience, but the book makes no mention of religion, and the exercises it describes can be easily performed by anyone of any (or no) faith tradition. The variety of techniques offered ensures that each reader will find something that works in his or her own life.

1456, the night of Vlad's coronation: a dastardly plot, a joint venture between the Ottoman Empire and Catholic Hungary to kill the Impaler's beloved, sets off some of the worst atrocities in history, enshrining the name Dracula as a synonym for terror. He drank the blood of his victims, and filled the castles of the land with wretches destined for the stake: Scourge of the Saxons, champion of the peasants, national hero who saved his country from Islamic conquest, Vlad was all of these, and much, much more... His name has become a byword for cruelty, Vlad's draconian policies the horror of Europe. But who was the man behind the legend? Written off by historians, the Dacians were thought to have vanished immediately after the Roman conquest of Dacia, but Vlad, Son of the Devil, would revive the ancient Gaulish pride, bringing hope to the oppressed Wallach remnants of Transylvania through a dastardly series of impalements: he would become known in Romanian as Vlad ?epe?, the Impaler!

Ousmane Semb?ne was one of the greatest, most groundbreaking filmmakers in the history of cinema, an acclaimed novelist, and the most renowned African director of the twentieth century. Black Girl was his brilliant, blistering debut. Released in 1966, it won the Prix Jean Vigo at the Cannes Film Festival that year. The film is about a young Senegalese woman, played powerfully by M'Bissine Th?r?se Diop, who moves to France to work for a wealthy white family as a nanny, but quickly discovers that life in their apartment is a prison, both figuratively and literally; but it is also a searing, nuanced critique of the lingering colonialism in the supposedly postcolonial world.

Vlad Dima's study of Black Girl argues that the film helped to map the future of African cinema. He situates it within its postcolonial context, considering its adaptation from the eponymous short story first published in 1962. He examines the performances of Mbissine Th?r?se Diop (Diouana), Anne-Marie Jelinek (Madame) and Robert Fontaine (Monsieur), considering the ways in which they embody or subvert postcolonial, French archetypes, and then goes on to examine the technical aspects of Sembene's filmmaking, such as his innovative use of framing and aural composition. Finally, he traces the film's lasting influence on African cinema, from Semb?ne's own Xala (1975), to Safi Faye's Mossane (1996), Joseph Ga? Ramaka's Karmen Ge? (2001), Jean-Pierre Bekolo's Saignantes (2005), and Mati Diop's Atlantics (2019).

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - and. L?nder - Mittelalter, Fr?he Neuzeit, Note: 1+, Justus-Liebig-Universit?t Gie?en (Historisches Institut, Osteurop?ische Geschichte), Veranstaltung: Vlad der Pf?hler alias Dracula.

Freedom, Responsibility, and Therapy【電子書籍】[ Vlad Beliavsky ]

This book investigates the role of free will and responsibility in mental well-being, psychotherapy, and personality theory. Mounting evidence suggests that a belief in free will is associated with positive outcomes for human mental health and behaviours, yet little is known about why the theme of freedom has such a significant impact. This book explores why and how different freedom-related concepts affect well-being and psychotherapy, such as autonomy, free will, negative freedom, the experience of freedom, blame, and responsibility.

Through the lens of the works of Freud and Rogers, the book tackles both theoretical and practical questions: How can different senses of responsibility affect mental health? What are the implications of a lack of free will for therapy? If we have no free will, can therapists continue to encourage their clients to take responsibility for their actions? Is it possible to reconcile different counselling schools concerning free will?

With an illuminating dive into both philosophy and psychotherapy, Beliavsky carefully analyses the implications of the philosophical free will debate on therapy and shows that some senses of freedom and responsibility are crucial to psychotherapy and mental health.

A Ordem Do Drag?o E Vlad Draculea【電子書籍】[ Adeilson Nogueira ]

?Qu? hacer?

Sonic Space in Djibril Diop Mambety's Films【電子書籍】[ Vlad Dima ]

An analysis of the Senegalese film director’s work from the perspective of sound.

The art of Senegalese director Djibril Diop Mambety’s cinema lies in the tension created between the visual narrative and the aural narrative. His work has been considered hugely influential, and his films bridge Western practices of filmmaking and oral traditions from West Africa. Mambety’s film Touki Bouki is considered one of the foundational works of African cinema. Vlad Dima proposes a new reading of Mambety’s entire filmography from the perspective of sound. Following recent analytical patterns in film studies that challenge the primacy of the visual, Dima claims that Mambety uses voices, noise, and silence as narrative tools that generate their own stories and sonic spaces. By turning an ear to cinema, Dima pushes African aesthetics to the foreground of artistic creativity and focuses on the critical importance of sound in world cinema.

“Vlad Dima’s close readings of Mamb?ty’s films sing. His are smart, critically sound interpretations of aesthetically rich and thematically resonant works. This book will surely be of interest to anyone studying movie soundtracks, but it will also interest those who care about the affective dimensions of sound and audition, particularly in the global South.” ーNoah Tsika, author of Nollywood Stars

“This sophisticated and in-depth analysis aptly demonstrates Vlad Dima’s grasp of the contentious issues surrounding Mamb?ty’s film legacy as well as the overall perspectives on the degree to which Third Cinema and revolutionary filmmaking fit within an analysis of the Senegalese director’s oeuvre.” ーJames E. Verbindungen zwischen Bram Stokers Dracula und der historischen Figur Vlad Draculea【電子書籍】[ Peter Oliver Greza ]

Vlad Dracula The Dragon Prince【電子書籍】[ Michael Augustyn ]

Most of the vast audience attracted to the subject of Dracula know him only in his fictional, one-dimensional form: vampire! Yet the truth behind the historical character--voevode, warlord--of 15th C. Romania is at least as equally fascinating as any contrived account of his supernatural persona.
Vlad Dracula faithfully follows his life story as hostage, fugitive, prince, and prisoner, as well as his legend. His principality of Wallachia was caught between two voracious predators: the kingdom of Hungary and the Ottoman empire. They tried to break Dracula with overwhelming force and terror. But Dracula turned their own tactics against them, and against criminals and factions in his own land, earning the name Tepes--The Impaler--in the process.
He was a strange mix of husband, father, soldier, statesman, and berserker. He annihilated 50,000 people--one-tenth of his own population. Cursed by his native Orthodox Christian Church, he indeed evolved into a legend. But even today he is Romania's Robin Hood.
