Bedazzle The Art and Science of Eternal Confidence【電子書籍】[ Shamoly Khera ]

What makes a person confident? What affects a person's confidence adversely and why is that even important?
Did you know that one's childhood can have a deep impact on one's self-confidence?
Have you ever wondered how a sportsperson performs repeatedly even after multiple failures? Where does that confidence come from, despite past failure? What can we learn from this?
How do animals with lesser thinking capacity step out to hunt, deeply motivated, every single day, despite a previous failed attempt?
Did you know that our environment can affect the ways our confidence is built every day?

Bedazzle deconstructs the core aspects of subconscious motivation in all such scenarios and handpicks the triggers to understand confidence at a deeper level so that anyone can use it to their best advantage. Successful people are often perceived as confident but it is less acknowledged that it is immense confidence that makes people successful. Author Shamoly Khera reveals multiple action plans that can aid a person in developing and maintaining consistent confidence, awakening deep motivation in the self and actualising one's full self-potential.

It's not just inner confidence, however. Portraying this externally is equally essential in dominating today's world-whether at work or in life. From your body language to your voice, the way you walk or your elevator pitch-all of it matters. Bedazzle unravels the perceptions of the human mind and how we can rewire our inner programming to reinforce positive perceptions. Because only when people master both inner and outer confidence, can they truly bedazzle!

Dazzled Finding the Key to Perfect Forgiveness【電子書籍】[ Jess Echeverry ]

Everyone needs to heal from something. We all have brokenness. Some of us don’t even recognize our wounds for what they are; the things we flaunt only hide what we fail to acknowledge. When the wounds finally do get uncovered, the pain intensifies and we want to get beyond the discomfort as soon as possible. We desire to live a normal, happy life and not to be held captive by our past. We’re told forgiveness is the key. Perhaps we know that already. We may even believe it. But do we know what perfect forgiveness actually is? The world offers a version of forgiveness whose goal is to unload our burdens so we can feel better and ‘move on’. Once we attain this level, we’re allowed to be happy. But this book suggests something radically different: the world’s version of forgiveness is sadly incomplete. It’s unfinished. Only through the transformative power of our wounds themselves, can the fullness of perfect forgiveness be attained.

The Cruise of the Dazzler Adventure Novel【電子書籍】[ Jack London ]

The Cruise of the Dazzler is an early novel by Jack London, set in his home city of San Francisco. It is considered a boy’s adventure novel. In the novel, Joe Bronson, dissatisfied with his dull life at school, runs away and joins the crew of a sloop he sees in San Francisco Bay. He finds the captain is involved in criminal activities. The nautical activities on board a sailing boat are authentically described, and there are convincing descriptions of boats enduring stormy weather at sea. Joe Bronson, instead of studying for a school exam, goes out kite-flying with his school friends; on their way back he gets involved in fights with gang members in a poor part of the city. After he fails the exam the next day, he walks out of school and takes a ferry across the bay to Oakland. Looking at the boats on the wharf, he imagines the exciting life on a boat. His father, a businessman, has a liberal attitude to his son; but, critical of his recent behavior and poor school report, tells him that he might send him to a military academy. Joe later leaves a farewell note for his family; returning to Oakland, he joins the crew of a sloop, the Dazzler. The captain Pete Le Maire is known as ”French Pete”, and the one other crew member is ‘Frisco Kid, a boy of about Joe’s age.

How was he able to do this when most scientists didn’t even believe that light traveled? Like many paradigm-shattering discoveries, Romer’s was accidental. Night after night he was timing the disappearance and reappearance of Jupiter’s moon Io behind the huge, distant planet. Eventually he realized that the discrepancies in his measurements could have only one explanation: Light had a speed, and it took longer to reach Earth when Earth was farther from Jupiter. All he needed then to calculate light’s speed was some fancy geometry.

Tempting boys to be what they should beーgiving them in wholesome form what they wantーthat is the purpose and power of Scouting. To help parents and leaders of youth secure books boys like best that are also best for boys, the Boy Scouts of America organized EVERY BOY'S LIBRARY. The books included, formerly sold at prices ranging from $1.50 to $2.00 but, by special arrangement with the several publishers interested, are now sold in the EVERY BOY'S LIBRARY Edition at $1.00 per volume. The books of EVERY BOY'S LIBRARY were selected by the Library Commission of the Boy Scouts of America, consisting of George F. Bowerman, Librarian, Public Library of the District of Columbia; Harrison W. Craver, Director, Engineering Societies Library, New York City; Claude G. Leland, Superintendent, Bureau of Libraries, Board of Education, New York City; Edward F. Stevens, Librarian, Pratt Institute Free Library, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Franklin K. Mathiews, Chief Scout Librarian. Only such books were chosen by the Commission as proved to be, by a nation wide canvas, most in demand by the boys themselves. Their popularity is further attested by the fact that in the EVERY BOY'S LIBRARY Edition, more than a million and a quarter copies of these books have already been sold. We know so well, are reminded so often of the worth of the good book and great, that too often we fail to observe or understand the influence for good of a boy's recreational reading. Such books may influence him for good or ill as profoundly as his play activities, of which they are a vital part. The needful thing is to find stories in which the heroes have the characteristics boys so much admireーunquenchable courage, immense resourcefulness, absolute fidelity, conspicuous greatness. We believe the books of EVERY BOY'S LIBRARY measurably well meet this challenge.
