F?r die vorliegende Arbeit wurden aus dem Zeitraum von 1871-1933 f?nf besonders herausragende Ereignisse ausgew?hlt, die einen Umbruch- oder Krisencharakter hatten. Es handelt sich um die Staatsformwechsel von 1871 und 1918, den Kanzlerwechsel 1890, den Beginn des 1. Weltkriegs 1914 und das Krisenjahr der Weimarer Republik 1923. Die nachfolgende Darstellung machte es sich zur Aufgabe, politisch-satirische Zeitschriften zum Zeitpunkt dieser f?nf Umbr?che im Hinblick auf folgende These inhaltlich zu analysieren: Die politisch-satirische Zeitschrift in Deutschland verhielt sich in den Phasen des politischen Umbruchs im Kaiserreich und in der Weimarer Republik gegen?ber den innenpolitischen Akteuren zunehmend opportunistisch. Zum Ausgleich f?r die abnehmende innenpolitische Kritik, richtete sich die Satire der Kommunikatoren gegen au?enpolitische Akteure. Diese Anpassung f?hrte zum Verlust von Rezipienten, womit die langfristig sinkenden Auflagenzahlen der politisch-satirischen Zeitschriften in Deutschland zu erkl?ren sind. Die Auswahl der Quellen orientierte sich an den 'drei gro?en deutschen Satirezeitschriften': Die fliegenden Bl?tter, Kladderadatsch und Simplicissimus. Allerdings widmeten sich die 1844 in M?nchen gegr?ndeten Fliegenden Bl?tter vorwiegend dem unterhaltenden Humor. Sie verzichteten auf die politische Satire und sind deshalb f?r diese Arbeit ungeeignet. Der S. und der K. dagegen, wurden von Wilmont Haacke in seiner Darstellung zur Geschichte der politischen Zeitschrift diesem Typus zugerechnet. Deshalb beschr?nkte sich die Untersuchung auf diese beiden Zeitschriften, die zudem sehr gut in den Berliner Bibliotheken verf?gbar waren. Die Auswahl der jeweiligen Ausgaben von beiden Bl?ttern erfolgte durch eine Konkretisierung der Umbr?che und Krisen auf folgende Daten: Ausrufung des Kaiserreiches am 18.Januar 1871, Entlassung Bismarcks am 20.M?rz 1890, Kriegserkl?rungen des Deutschen Reiches an Russland am 1.August und an Frankreich am 3.August 1914, die Verk?ndung der Abdankung des Kaisers und die Ausrufung der Republik am 9.November 1918.
