Aussi, est-ce autant un plaisir qu’un devoir pour lui que de remercier publiquement les personnes qui lui sont rest?es fid?les comme monsieur L?on Gozlan, envers lequel il a contract? une dette de reconnaissance ; comme monsieur Victor Hugo, qui a, pour ainsi dire, protest? contre le public de la premi?re repr?sentation, en revenant voir la pi?ce ? la seconde ; comme monsieur de Lamartine et madame de Girardin, qui ont maintenu leur premier jugement malgr? l’irritation g?n?rale.
