The first part of the thesis presents the observation of the two-photon decay for a transition where the one-photon decay is allowed. In the second part, so called quadrupole mixed-symmetry is investigated in inelastic proton scattering experiments. In 1930 Nobel-prize winner M. Goeppert-Mayer was the first to discuss the two-photon decay of an exited state in her doctoral thesis. This process has been observed many times in atomic physics. However in nuclear physics data is sparse. Here this decay mode has only been observed for the special case of a transition between nuclear states with spin and parity quantum number 0+. For such a transition, the one-photon decay ? the main experimental obstacle to observe the two-photon decay ? is forbidden. Furthermore, the energy sharing and angular distributions were measured, allowing conclusions to be drawn about the multipoles contributing to the two-photon transition. Quadrupole mixed-symmetry states are an excitation mode in spherical nuclei which are sensitive to the strength of the quadrupole residual interaction. A new signature for these interesting states is presented which allows identification of mixed-symmetry states independently of electromagnetic transition strengths. Bei abfallender kardiomyozyt?rer Sauerstoffspannung - so die Hypothese - wird Adenosin freigesetzt und gelangt durch das Interstitium an die Adenosin-Rezeptoren der glatten Muskulatur der Koronargef??e, um dort eine Vasodilatation zu bewirken. Die dadurch gesteigerte Koronardurchblutung f?hrt zu einer Wiederherstellung der normalen Sauerstoffspannung. Es konnte in mehreren Studien der koronardilatatorische Effekt von Adenosin gezeigt werden (31;57;62). Heute wissen wir, dass eine Vasodilatation ?ber A2-Rezeptoren der glatten Muskelzellen vermittelt wird. Es gibt allerdings auch Hinweise, dass der vasodilatatorische Effekt von Adenosin auch ?ber A2-Rezeptoren des Endothels vermittelt wird (57). Stepp und Mitarbeiter untersuchten die Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehung von interstitiellem Adenosin zur Koronardurchblutung und stellten fest, dass bereits eine Erh?hung der interstitiellen Adenosin-Konzentration um 62 % zu einer halbmaximalen Erh?hung der Koronardurchblutung f?hrte. Dabei wurde kein Hinweis f?r eine sekund?re Aktivierung eines m?glichen Vasodilatators durch endotheliale Adenosin-Rezeptoren gefunden (75). Allerdings scheint Adenosin unter physiologischen Bedingungen keine Rolle bei der koronaren Flussregulation zu spielen. So f?hrte ein um das 4-fache gesteigerter Sauerstoffverbrauch bei Hunden unter k?rperlicher Belastung zwar zu einem Anstieg der interstitiellen Adenosin-Konzentration, aber nicht in den Ma?en, dass eine koronarvasodilatatorische Wirkung herbeigef?hrt werden k?nnte (84). Bei belastungsinduzierter O2-Mangelversorgung f?llt der ATP-Gehalt kaum ab und die Adenosin-Konzentration steigt stark an, w?hrend es bei Okklusion und ATP-Katabolismus rasch zu einem ATP-Abfall und erheblichen Zunahmen von Adenosin kommt. Die Adenosin-Freisetzung scheint also nicht vom myokardialen Sauerstoffumsatz abh?ngig zu sein (49). Auch bei Inhibition der NO-Synthese kommt es nicht zu einer kompensatorischen koronaren Vasodilatation durch Adenosin. These include a radially biased large-area photoconductive antenna (PCA) that provided the largest longitudinally polarised terahertz electric field component ever measured from a PCA. This radially biased PCA was used in conjunction with an energy recovery linear accelerator for electron acceleration experiments at the Daresbury Laboratory. To achieve even higher longitudinally polarised terahertz electric field strengths, and to be able to temporally tune the terahertz radiation, the author investigated generation within non-linear optical crystals. The psychiatrist, like his medical colleague, must be concerned with the psychological, psychosocial, biological, and technical aspects of psychiatry. The strengthening and development of the medical identity of the psychiatrist imposes increased responsibilities on him and on psychiatry as a medical discipline.
