Growing Up Crisscrossing the Line【電子書籍】[ Omar L Rashed ]

楽天Kobo電子書籍ストア

What's this kid saying? This poetic memoir tells one child's story of growing up, crisscrossing the line of two worlds. Boy | Man; Genius | Insanity; Love | Hate. Giving voice to real feelings that couldn't be said, nor heard. Until now.

“Out of the mouths of babes” come enlightening words ? sometimes. Mostly raw expression of whatever is inside. Often incomprehensible, haphazard, and misunderstood.

This poetic memoir describes how the mind of a man came to be, from its humble beginnings as a baby. The experiences, major turning points, and imprinted memories it clung to.

The man in question faces me in the mirror, everyday. I have lived, remembered, and felt each memory. Yet somehow, as a child, I was never able to put into words the feelings of hurt and health; of happiness and horror.

Looking back, with adult voice and vocabulary, I share and describe how I felt growing up ? those dimensions I felt unable to express myself, in my weakness. This process will begin to bring peace to the experiences of chapters past and let them close. Within these recollections, an understanding and appreciation for the feelings of the young ? those who feel very real feelings, but lack the words to tell them ? will hopefully resonate through.

Each of the following poems represents a snapshot ? a vivid point that played a pivotal role in my upbringing, development, and growth.

“A mind is a terrible thing to waste.” Here’s to saving them, one at a time.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 573円

Crisscrossing Communication Research Historical Context and Global Perspective【電子書籍】[ Chin-Chuan Lee ]

楽天Kobo電子書籍ストア

Drawing on studies of international communication and late Qing and Republican newspapers, this book examines the intellectual and practical development of communication from a global and historical perspective.

The book is organized in two parts. The first part explores the “domestication” and fragmentation of communication studies, examining how domestic communication paradigms have been transformed into “refined mediocrity” and how international communication is now included in discussions of “modern theory”. Focusing on the newspapers of China’s Republican era, the second part explores the history of journalism from a variety of perspectives and addresses several key research issues. By exploring ways to connect theories in the humanities and social sciences, bridging the gap between Eastern and Western cultures, and interweaving case studies and macro-level theorizing, the author shows that communication analysis is necessarily dialectical, specific, complementary, and conditional. The book sheds important light on how acting locally while thinking globally can help us reconstruct the epistemological and methodological foundations of international communication.

The title will appeal to scholars and students in communication studies, journalism, and the social sciences, especially those interested in international communication.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 11,792円
