Diese Beschreibung aus Viktor Klemperers 'LTI' kennzeichnet meiner Ansicht nach sehr treffend die systematische Manipulation der deutschen Sprache w?hrend der Herrschaft des Nationalsozialismus in Deutschland. Eine solch beschriebene verdeckte und schleichende Sprachsteuerung basiert auf der Verwendung von bestimmten sprachlichen Mitteln, die bei einem zielgerichteten und geplanten Gebrauch der Sprache einen manipulativen Charakter verleihen k?nnen. Ein Beispiel f?r diese sprachlichen Mittel sind Euphemismen. Sie lassen sich in jeder Sprache finden, m?ssen aber nicht zwingend einen manipulativen Charakter besitzen. Doch gerade in totalit?ren politischen Systemen wie dem Nationalsozialismus in Deutschland wurden Euphemismen f?r die sprachliche Manipulation eingesetzt. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, einen ?berblick ?ber das sprachliche Ph?nomen der Euphemismen zu geben und den spezifischen Gebrauch derselben im Nationalsozialismus am Beispiel einer 'Festtagsrede' von Joseph Goebbels zum 10. Jahrestag der nationalsozialistischen Machtergreifung zu analysieren. Um die genannten Ziele in dieser Arbeit zu erf?llen, folgt zun?chst eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Begriff des Euphemismus aus sprachwissenschaftlicher Perspektive sowie eine Betrachtung der sprachlichen Realisierungsm?glichkeiten von Euphemismen. Im Anschluss daran wird das Modell f?r die Textanalyse von Christian A. Braun vorgestellt werden, da dieses Modell als Grundlage f?r die darauffolgende Analyse der Goebbels-Rede dient.
