Kaikaku - at its worst How greedy shareholders and incompetent managers can ruin a company【電子書籍】[ Robert F. Carter ]

This book reveals in no uncertain terms how a sea of radical changes (kaikaku) initiated by a reckless CEO, untrammelled by a gross negligent advisory board and executed by an utterly incompetent management team can make a company hit the skids with lightning speed. More than 30 real-life examples spell out the sheer magnitude of harm bad managers can cause and how disaster can be prevented with a bit of humility and a dash of common sense. - There is little hope the people in charge of ChOps Ltd. overcome the Mandela effect when reading this book. But if they do it will be a comeuppance they utterly deserve.

The Incompetent Husband (Her first ever erotica pleasure after years of marriage)【電子書籍】[ Fiona Reeds ]

Mrs. Hannah had never felt such a beautiful coming together of her emotional and physical needs because her husband was naive in bedroom.

She had never experienced such a combination of emotions and sensations. Never before have her mental state so coincided with her physical needs in such an awesomely satisfying and pleasurable manner: being wanted by a real man, being needed by a sexually skillful man, belonging and taken by a strong man.

The feelings went deeper than liking and fancying, maybe bordered on, or was in love! Every sensitive part of her body was aflame, every inch of her skin was tingling, the two softies on her chest felt so full craving his touch, she was aching with needs the whole time. It was like one continuous, ongoing pleasure that increased in intensity as it went on.

Getting handled by her boss was an exhilarating feeling.

She was willing to give up her marriage for that feeling.

The Boss Is In: Incapable, Incompetent, Ineffective, Inferior, Inflated-Egotist, Ingrate, Inhuman, Insane, Insecure, Insensitive, Insincere, Insufferable, Insulting, Intolerable, …【電子書籍】[ Robert M. Hardy ]

Most of us have had a bad boss at sometime. Consequences range from minor annoyances to health issues to life or death.

The author takes true stories of stand alone cases from big company environments and identifies bad boss behaviors. He looks at serious cases -- cheating, lying, discriminating, stealing, cultural diversity, gender and even religion related problems. Also intricately planned unfairness. Some are contrary to what one is accustomed to reading. Each case focuses on a snapshot or a moving account that exemplifies a boss behavior -- like an unauthorized biography. Some are under the radar of the higher leadership -- some are in line. The cases play out in the longer term.

Facts in each case are analyzed. A case might have a simple solution except for the reluctance to discuss taboos or politically incorrect issues.

While there is no condoning bad bosses, there may be identifiable (treatable) reasons -- such as the case of the boss with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and others.

See if you would come to the same conclusions. See if you agree with the actions taken by the players. See what you would do if faced with any of these situations.

Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders? (And How to Fix It)【電子書籍】[ Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic ]

We all know there are very few senior female leaders, and the barriers to women's progress have been documented ad nauseum. What's gotten almost no attention is the flipside: that it's far too easy for incompetent men to get to the top.

Learn the list of traits that often get people (mostly men) nominated to leadership roles, but backfire once people take on those roles

Learn the traits that really make leaders (women and men) competent

Learn how to select more competent leaders in your organization

Learn to identify incompetent leaders before you promote them

Audience: This is a provocative book designed to interest a general audience in a timely, hot-button issue. The primary reader is likely to be female, but there is a lot here for interested men too, whether they consider themselves "allies" or are just tired of working for a boorish boss who fits the Alpha Male mode. There should also be an interested audience among HR professionals, leadership development folks, coaches, Chief Talent Officers, Chief Learning Officers, and boards. There may also be a group of interested readers who fit the description of the overconfident men who are the focus of the book! Perhaps they would like to become more self-aware.

INCOMPETENT Coming Up Short in a World of Achievement【電子書籍】[ James M Flammang ]

Some of us can do practically everything. Even more can do a few things well, and qualify as passable in a number of others. Yet another group of folks are able to do several things adequately ? sufficient to provide satisfaction and generate rewards, monetary and otherwise ? while falling short on the remainder of life’s activities.
Then, there are the rest of us.
When the Creator passed out skills and talents, we fully-seasoned incompetents must have been looking the other way.
Nonsense, many helpful friends would insist. Everybody has some kind of talent, these competent humans believe, and insist: something they are able to do especially well. Not all of them are big, noticeable talents, but we all have some skills.
Well, no. Sorry. Some of us simply don’t know how to do anything in more than the crudest, most ineffectual way. No one will ever say of us: “Remember him? He was really good at so-and-so.” All they’ll be able to say is: “Remember him? No, me neither. You hardly knew he was here at all.”
Personally, as a child, I had exactly two skills: spelling and math. While in first grade, I solved arithmetic problems meant for seventh-graders. In high school algebra class, the teacher invariably saved back the toughest problem for me.
At age 11, I was the best speller at James G. Blaine elementary school. Upon winning the district spelling bee that year, I thought I was the best speller in Chicago. Soon afterward I was on TV, participating in the Chicago Daily News Spelling Bee. Rather than win, as expected by everyone who knew me, I came in fourth ? beaten by two kids whom I’d trounced in our district contest.
This tense experience seemed to be a portent of things to come, of competence lost. Eventually, someone invented the pocket calculator. Later on, the spell checker.
By then, my lack of competence in a host of areas was well established, as we’ll see in these chapters.
Comedian Lewis Black may have said it best. Explaining that like stereotypical Jewish people, he’s never been adept with mechanical devices and operations of even the simplest nature ? he admitted that “it’s just by the grace of god I can actually wipe myself.”
Most of us aren’t quite that ill-equipped, but we definitely get the message.
The point of writing a book on such a negative subject isn’t merely to bemoan all my incompetences, of course. No, our real goal is to note that there are plenty of us incompetents out there, struggling unnoticed through each day, amid a world of high achievers.
These chapters are intended to provide a bit of solace to younger, up-and-coming incompetents, who have not yet come to grips with their lack of skills. Or, in some cases, are not yet aware of how inept they are, vainly relying on the old adage that “practice makes perfect.”
Sorry, strivers. For typical incompetents, a thousand years of practice and trying hard wouldn’t elevate us to the ranks of beginner, much less achiever.
If you’re one of us ? or think you might be ? take heart. You are not alone. Within these pages, you’ll see just how bad it could be, if you slipped into the ranks of the full-fledged, all-out incompetent.

Seven Dwarfs: An Incompetent Board of Directors and a House of Cards【電子書籍】[ Wilma Hayes ]

These stories are named for the Seven Dwarfs in Snow White, but that’s about all I’ve used.

Humour is fiendishly difficult for me to write; I don't understand timing, sarcasm, or one-liners. Maybe it means that I have no sense of humour. But here I am faced with Seven Dwarfs. Surely humour has to come into it. One of them is named Happy for heaven's sake. On reflection, Dopey should also be easy.

So, I’ve created a Board of Incompetent Directors of a small, reasonably successful company facing a crisis. Needless to say, they aren't entirely up to it and as we shall see, the company is really a house of cards.

Doc is the Chairman of the Board and founder. He has this great idea...everyone will love it. Really?

Happy, the Financial Director bumbles along keeping everyone on his side with jokes and cupcakes, but has a few things that need to be kept quiet.

Sleepy, the Health and Safety Director meets the worst crisis of his career and he has to keep it quiet too because he should have known better.

Dopey is the Marketing and Sales Director. Everyone keeps their distance from him or they open a window. Like his good friend, the Chairman, he is not an active Director. He has an office with staff who actually do the work. He's happy with his lot. It works well for him.

Sneezy, is the asthmatic Human Resources Director. All of a sudden, kindness in the past is holding her to ransom. Debts need to be paid.

Grumpy, the Operations and Production Manager is facing a massive hole in his personal finances that he is trying to fill. Does it change his loyalty?

Bashful, the Clerk and Legal Secretary wants the simple quiet life. She is terrified of taking any responsibility. Naturally it won't work out that way.

So, failing to make them funny, I thought it best to watch as they face their individual crises and see how deeply they dig themselves into more trouble. Dopey, Grumpy, Happy were reasonably straightforward, Doc and Sneezy but were a bit more of a challenge. Sleepy was the one who kept getting deeper and deeper into difficulty and that is very satisfying as a writer.

In the end, it was Bashful that was the most fun to write. Maybe I have a sense of humour after all.

The Incompetent Psychic【電子書籍】[ Mernie Buchanan ]

Memoir of a freelance artist and her team of spirit guides

Sometimes messages from the Great Whatever are unclear… or I cavalierly ignore them. Life on this planet and clues from another dimension examine: art, reincarnation, relationships, childhood trauma, screwups, triumphs and the love of good dogs.

"I wish I could have your life but only for two weeks," said a friend with a salaried job and a pricier (but less eclectic) wardrobe.

The Incompetent Psychic is an engaging read whether you want a guidebook for an unconventional route or if you simply want to be assured the more conservative road you traveled was a better choice.

Here are stories of seeking alternative sensations and eventual redemption. Humorous and cautionary tales take you on rides much safer to read than experience. You'll race on sailboats, ski on acid and live with showgirls in Las Vegas. You'll share puff pastries with angels. You might face some fears. Mernie also shows you how to have a career in the creative arts without a real job. Her freelance vocation in both commercial and fine art has spanned forty years.

This memoir looks at colorful stories and paintings to see a bigger pictureーinspired by life in this world and glimpses of another. Being only marginally adept with the Cosmic Message function, Mernie keeps trying to hear to the angels... and the dogs.

This eBook version is illustrated with 22 color images by the author.

The Incompetent Dominatrices【電子書籍】[ Christina Halpin ]

A unique BDSM adventure that is light, funny, insightful, touching, and erotic. Ditzy Annabelle's latest project is learning to become a dominatrix; Zoe is helping her and interpreting the Dominatrix book. She's good at school, but like a fish out of water when it comes to being practical. Patrick, the practical one, is helping out by being the test dummy.

And it would be just practice except Annabelle and Zoe keep making mistakes. Losing the key to the chastity device. Not realizing that the flimsy things at the end of the whip actually hurt Patrick. Bundling him up in a blindfold and ball gag to take him to a BDSM club -- and mistakenly taking him to a restaurant.

Predictably, Patrick discovers he's submissive -- his wiring is somehow backwards and he is erotically excited by this misadventures. Annabelle comes to like the practical advantages of being a dominatrix, and Zoe learns that she likes dominating. For her, it's empowering.

So, oddly enough, this is an actual story, with endearing characters. There's even personality growth, everyone's life changes.

The book is three parts. 1. His own and his family's suffering, and how other religions answer the problem. 2. The answers in The Bible, to see if they are meaningful today. 3. The Beltway Bible A Totally Serious A-Z Guide to Our No-Good, Corrupt, Incompetent, Terrible, Depressing, and Sometimes Hilarious Government【電子書籍】[ Eliot Nelson ]

How is legislation crafted? How do you lose an election? What do “bundler,” “quorum call” and “omnibus” mean? Why do some of the White House’s most important meetings occur at a Starbucks? Why are Washington insiders obsessed with something called Jumbo Slice? What, exactly, is a “skintern?” Eliot Nelson, one of Washington’s funniest and most admired young journalists, knows how the sausage factory works and his new book, The Beltway Bible, is every citizen's must-have owner’s manual. Arranged from A to Z, The Beltway Bible provides an insider's perspective of politics and government, breaking down both into easily-digested entries on subjects like how legislation is formed, the scope of the president’s power and an overview of federal agencies. Nelson also looks at D.C.'s less-well-known power structures: the internal pecking order of White House aides, the high school cafeteria power struggles behind party invites and the petty congressional arguments over how highway on-ramps are named. The Beltway Bible makes our complex government accessible in a way that will please everyone from Jon Stewart to John Doe. Eliot Nelson’s The Beltway Bible is tailor-made for Election 2016.

Media Competence regarding Facebook Privacy Settings Are users just too incompetent to protect their private data?【電子書籍】[ Stefanie Gro? ]

Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject Communications - Multimedia, Internet, New Technologies, grade: 1,0, University of Copenhagen (Deptartment of Media, Cognition and Communication), course: Audience and User Studies, language: English, abstract: In September 2012 Facebook welcomed the one billionth user and can therefore be entitled as the current biggest social interaction platform worldwide. With growing success since its launch in February 2004 questions about privacy security for user data became a growing issue as well. With expanding user numbers these questions seem to become louder than ever. During the years the Facebook has been on international focus for several privacy flaws for instance in 2005 for not encrypting users' passwords, in 2006 for publishing every single friend activity without any restriction possibilities in a news feed on the personal start page or in 2007 the implementation of a platform for applications by third-party suppliers. In academic treatments about privacy made so far mainly Facebook itself was putted on the spot and accused of violating their user's privacy. The social network giant was blamed to treat their user's privacy too carelessly and to make the matter worse Facebook became more and more commercial - with personal data as currency. The start of showing presence at the stock market in 2011 was just the logical consequence of this new company policy. The two latest critic points Facebook needed to defend for were the standard settings for the privacy interface within the context of the new timeline optic and the latest change in Facebook privacy terms. Both changes happened in 2012. After doing some first superficial research it seemed like there is no academic study so far that does not focus on Facebook as a company in charge regarding this matter. But one could wonder if the users themselves are in charge as well. Are we exhausting our options to protect our private data on Facebook? While Facebook's privacy flaws are well examined, relatively little literature is available on how much users know and care about these issues. My assumption is that most of the users aren't doing much about the assumed lack of privacy beyond venting about it.

Election Diary 2010 An insight into power, politics and incompetent arseclowns【電子書籍】[ FPW ]

Sitting in my Parliamentary Office nearly two weeks after the 2010 Election, the Australian people are still somewhat uncertain as to who will lead them over the coming three years. As you’ll read in this book, I make that observation with a sense of pride rather than with concern. Australia’s Democracy is like Jimmy Barnes: it can abuse itself endlessly and still rock at the end of the day. Whatever the final composition of the Government, I’m confident the job of leading the country will be undertaken with the respect and passion it deserves. That said, an Abbott Government would be an unmitigated bloody disaster that would entrench stupidity, animosity and 56K dialup internet for the next decade.

Geoffrey E L Bennett uncovers deep Biblical insights linking them to twenty-first century cultural and scientific answers. Is God cruel or callous? Is He impotent or incompetent? How can I know if God even exists? Part two examines Old Testament teaching on suffering, challenging the idea of ancient wisdom. Profound teaching is dissected from the minor and major prophets as well as the story of Job. Then the New Testament fulfillment of prophecy is examined, challenging perceived ideas, and finishes with an interpretation of the Apocalypse. The concluding solution to pain and suffering of God. Part three deals with scientific theories and twenty-first century concepts of the universe and the physical world, together with raw nature and biogenetic problems. Micronations For Those Who Are Tired of Existing Incompetent Governments and Are Longing for Something New and Refreshing【電子書籍】[ Mohhammad Bahareth ]

What is a Micro Nation?

A micro nation can actually be referred to as new country project or a model country. The definition of a micro nation is thus rendered:

“An entity that resembles a nation or a state, but which for the most part exists only on paper, on the Internet, or in the mind of its creator.”

Also referred to as:

“Model countries and new country projects -- are entities that claim to be independent nations or states but which are unrecognized by world governments or major international organizations.”

Different reasons exist why micro nations are created some being extremely serious whereas others are as a result of a hobby. There are however very genuine micro nations which are made of an entire community or tribe. These small entities almost always exist as replicas of real nations as opposed to existing states. We can therefore say that these are small nations with a small geographical area as well as populations.

The term micro nation can also be used synonymously with the term Fifth nation which also refers to social identity groups. Compared to micronations are macronations which are significantly larger and enjoy some territorial recognition and these are referred to as Fourth world nations. You will find many secessionist or self determination groups counted among macronations.

It is also very easy to confuse micronations with those tiny nations that are recognized legitimately. These geographically small counties include countries such as Monaco, Fiji and San Marino. Micronations should not be confused with legitimately recognized, but geographically tiny nations such as Fiji, Monaco, and San Marino, for which the term microstate is more accurate and descriptive.

In this book you will read about:

* Overview and introduction
* Categories of Micronations
* List of Small Microstates
* List of Physical Micronations
* Top Ten Out of the Ordinary Micronations
* The Most Famous Micronations
* The Newest Kids on the Block
* How You Can Start Your Own Micronation

Utter Incompetents Ego and Ideology in the Age of Bush【電子書籍】[ Thomas Oliphant ]

The problem wasn't just Iraq.

It didn't even start with Iraq.

It was bigger than Iraq.

In fact, it was everything George W. Bush touched, from the very early flop on energy policy to the walking fiasco named Alberto Gonzales. Even adding the tragicomedy of Hurricane Katrina doesn't come close to describing the governmental catastrophe of the Bush administration. The collapse of the Bush presidency is a broadly acknowledged fact. Everyone who's anyone, from politicians to comedians, has taken shots at this ever-growing target. By any fair assessment, much of the past seven years has been disastrous. The challenge is to understand why.

Few analysts have stepped aside, abandoning easy hits and quick gibes, and analyzed the totality of the Bush Administration. Now, bestselling author Thomas Oliphant does just that. With his keen, experienced eye, he asks the simplest of questions: "How could some of the smartest, most experienced and politically savvy people in Washington screw up so badly?"

After all, this was the team led by a man with an MBA. They came to Washington with the mission to run the government in an orderly, businesslike manner. Instead, chaos has ensued. How did this happen?

From domestic policy to international goofs, from soaring energy prices to the health care crisis---Thomas Oliphant tackles it all, closely inspecting the initial projections and promises of Bush and his key senior officials, and the ways in which they lost control of these well-publicized and overconfident plans. By comparing their rhetoric to their dismal record, Oliphant provides a historic analysis of the Bush administration---showing how a system so seemingly competent and mechanized could fail so miserably, and with such frequency.

In the wake of the Republican loss of Congress and unmet promises for future change, and as the presidential campaign to choose Bush's successor heats up, Oliphant provides a rigorous examination of what went wrong and what this means for the next administration. Utter Incompetents is at its heart a searching look at the George W. Bush administration, its policies, and the legacy that it will leave behind on January 20, 2009.

It is also the substantive backdrop for the next president.
