Trotz des 'Alters' dieser Frage, gibt es bez?glich des topographischen Wissenbestandes bislang keinen allgemeing?ltigen verbindlichen Kanon. Es erscheint sinnvoll, dass ein Sch?ler ein Mindestwissen ben?tigt, aber auch vielmehr eine Kompetenz erlernen sollte, mit der er analoge und digitale Karten anwenden, bewerten und herstellen kann. Die in dieser Arbeit fokussierte Thematik besch?ftigt sich somit mit der Analyse der nordrhein-westf?lischen Lehrpl?ne f?r die Sekundarstufen des Gymnasiums bzw. der Gesamtschule. Da topographische Kenntnisse und F?higkeiten, also das Verst?ndnis von Topographie, in den Lehrpl?nen in der Formulierung 'F?higkeit zur Orientierung' ausgedr?ckt wird, sollen unter dieser Formulierung die Lehrpl?ne Erdkunde Sek. I und Sek. II Gymnasium untersucht werden, so dass eine Einsch?tzung erfolgen kann, inwiefern die 'R?umliche Orientierungskompetenz' den Sch?lern vermittelt wird. Diese Analyse hat schlie?lich zum Ziel, den Stellenwert topographischer Elemente bestimmen zu k?nnen, indem eine pr?zise Auflistung relevanter Inhalte und Themen innerhalb der Lehrpl?ne erarbeitet wird. Vorbereitend auf diese Analyse erfolgt die Darstellung des Kompetenzbereiches 'R?umliche Orientierung', welcher im Zuge der nationalen Bildungsstandards f?r Geographie erarbeitet wurde.
