Morning and Evening: Daily Readings (Illustrated)【電子書籍】[ Charles Spurgeon ]

楽天Kobo電子書籍ストア
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (19 June 1834 31 January 1892) was a British Particular Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers". Spurgeon was to 19th century England what D. L Moody was to America. Although Spurgeon never attended theological school, by the age of twenty-one he was the most popular preacher in London. A strong figure in the Reformed Baptist tradition, defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church of his day, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times each week at different places. Spurgeon was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years, despite the fact he was part of several controversies with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and later had to leave the denomination. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally, and he also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him posthumously. Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works, including sermons, an autobiography, commentaries, books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. This edition of Spurgeons Morning and Evening: Daily Readings is specially formatted with a Table of Contents and is illustrated with over a dozen pictures of Spurgeon.画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 132円

The Complete Works of C. H. Spurgeon, Volume 20 Sermons 1150-1209【電子書籍】[ Spurgeon, Charles H. ]

楽天Kobo電子書籍ストア

Volume 20 Sermons 1150-1209
Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 ? 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades.

In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature.

Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey:

“Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarmingーa mighty hive of beesーeager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hourーfor if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advanceーMr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach every one in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.”

More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to publish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 132円

Faithful to Christ: A Challenge to Truly Live for Christ【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

楽天Kobo電子書籍ストア

Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. - 1 Samuel 12:24

If there is a true faith, there must be a declaration of it. If you are a candle, and God has lit you, then let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in the heavens (Matthew 5:16). Soldiers of Christ must, like soldiers of our nation, wear their uniforms; and if they are ashamed of their uniforms, they ought to be drummed out of the army.

I believe that many Christians get into a lot of trouble by not being honest in their convictions. For instance, if a person goes into a workshop, or a soldier into a barracks, and if he does not fly his flag from the beginning, it will be very difficult for him to run it up afterwards. But if he immediately and boldly lets them know, “I am a Christian, and there are certain things that I cannot do to please you, and certain other things that I cannot help doing even though they might displease you” ? when that is clearly understood, after a while the peculiarity of the thing will be gone, and the person will be let alone.

However, if he is a little dishonest and thinks that he is going to please the world and please Christ too, he can depend on it that he is in for a rough time. If he tries the way of compromise, his life will be like that of a toad under a harrow or a fox in a dog kennel. That will never do. Come out. Show your colors. Let it be known who you are and what you are. Although your course will not be smooth, it will certainly not be half as rough as if you tried to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds, which is a very difficult piece of business.
- Charles H. According to Promise: Of Salvation, Life, and Eternity【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. ? 2 Corinthians 7:1

The first part of this book is meant to be a sieve to separate the chaff from the wheat. Use it on your own soul. It may be the most profitable and beneficial work you have ever done. He who looked into his accounts and found that his business was losing money was saved from bankruptcy. This may happen also to you. If, however, you discover that your heavenly business is prospering, it will be a great comfort to you. You cannot lose by honestly searching your own heart.

The second part of this book examines God's promises to His children. The promises of God not only exceed all precedent, but they also exceed all imitation. No one has been able to compete with God in the language of liberality. The promises of God are as much above all other promises as the heavens are above the earth.

About the Author
Charles Haddon (C. H.) Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a British Baptist preacher. Believe and Be Saved: Or, Around the Wicket Gate【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

楽天Kobo電子書籍ストア

He who does not take the step of faith and enter upon the road to heaven will perish. It will be an awful thing to die close to, but yet outside the gate of life. Almost saved, but altogether lost! This is the most terrible of positions. A man just outside Noah’s ark would have drowned; a murderer close to the wall of the city of refuge, but outside of it, would be slain; and the man who is within a yard of Christ but has not trusted him will be lost.

Therefore, I am in terrible earnest to get my hesitating friends over the threshold. Come in! Come in! is my pressing plea. Why dost thou stand outside? is my solemn inquiry (Genesis 24:31). May the Holy Spirit render my pleadings effective with many who read these pages! May he cause his own almighty power to create faith in the soul at once.

My reader, if God blesses this book to you, do the writer this favor ? either lend your own copy to someone who is lingering at the gate or buy another and give it away, for his great desire is that this little volume should be of service to many thousands of souls.

To God this book is commended, for without his grace nothing will come of all that is written.
? Words of Warning: For Those Wavering Between Belief and Unbelief【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

He that believes in the Son has eternal life, and he that does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36)

This book, Words of Warning, is an analysis of people and the gospel of Christ. Under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Charles H. Spurgeon sheds light on the many ways people may refuse to come to Christ, but he also shines a brilliant light on how we can be saved. Unsaved or wavering individuals will be convicted, and if they allow it, they will be led to Christ. Sincere Christians will be happy and blessed as they consider the great salvation with which they have been saved.

Whether or not we look to Jesus Christ for salvation is the single most important determination we must make during our lifetime. Countless books have been written addressing just about every imaginable self-help topic. Other books are written solely for entertainment. Some of these books are okay in their own right, but what good are they to the reader if he is lost in the end? Why do we spend so much time even with good things, but neglect the great? Not one thing we can do during our seventy or eighty years on earth amounts to anything if we are not in Christ. What we do for Christ is everlasting, and by claiming our salvation in Him, we have an exceedingly bright future.

About the Author
Charles Haddon (C. H.)
All of Grace is a theological study by Charles Spurgeon who is known as the "Prince of Preachers". Grace is the hallmark of Christianity which is often out of the focus of the Christian church. Spurgeon suggests that the grace is the central glue of faith, redemption, and repentance. He argues that through grace, repentance gets a meaning. A gospel centered study tells about the greatness of Jesus and the Lord's redemptive heart towards his own. Spurgeon deals with the sin that entangles us by showing us Jesus. He reminds us that the Lord knows very well that we can't change our heart, but he can, when we submit to him by faith in Jesus. And with faith comes repentance.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 300円

Adults and churches tend to provide entertainment to occupy the children, but children ought to have our undivided attention. Jesus said, let the little children come to me. They were worthy of His time and devotion, and they are worthy of ours.

Expect to be challenged and inspired as you read this classic from Charles H. Spurgeon. Following Christ: Losing Your Life for His Sake【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

Whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave. ? Matthew 20:27

You cannot have Christ if you will not serve Him. If you take Christ, you must take Him in all His qualities. You must not simply take Him as a Friend, but you must also take Him as your Master. If you are to become His disciple, you must also become His servant. God-forbid that anyone fights against that truth. It is certainly one of our greatest delights on earth to serve our Lord, and this is to be our joyful vocation even in heaven itself: His servants shall serve Him: and they shall see His face (Revelation 22:3-4).

Charles H. Spurgeon originally wrote this book for members of the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor. Spurgeon's heartfelt writing style makes this book one that today still encourages believers to move into Christian action. He emphasizes simply moving forward, using the talents and resources you already have at your disposal, for the Lord's service and your own eternal reward. The concepts presented are easy to understand and straight-forward, if only you are ready to lay down your life to follow Christ.

Table of Contents
Ch. 1: The Necessity of Following Christ
Ch. 2: How to Go
Ch. 3: The Help of the Holy Spirit
Ch. 4: Only Christ
Ch. 5: Great Faith and Great Works
Ch. 6: Being Faithful with the Talents He Already Gave Us
Ch. 7: The Joy of the Lord's Harvest
Ch. 8: The Body Works Together
Ch. 9: Merely a Servant
Ch. 10: With God Nothing is Impossible
Ch. 11: We Must Bear Fruit
Ch. 12: Solely for His Glory
Ch. 13: Fire and A Hammer
Ch. 14: Beware of Foxes
Ch. 15: Good Things Take Time
Ch. 16: The Urgency of Today
Ch. 17: Open Your Mouth
Ch. 18: God's Limitless Providence
Ch. 19: Our Meager Loaves in Christ’s Hands

Original Title: We Endeavor
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 129円

My soul, rest thou only in God, for my hope is from him. ? Psalm 62:5

The paragraphs of this little book are not supposed to be an argument. It was not my aim to convince an opponent but to assist a friend. How I have personally threaded the labyrinth of life thus far may be of helpful interest to some other soul who is in a maze. I hope that these pages will assist some true heart to say “he fought his doubts and gather’d strength.” Let no man’s heart fail him, for the prevalent skepticisms of today are but “spectres of the mind.” Face them, and they fly.

About the Author
Charles Haddon (C. Words of Cheer for Daily Life: Messages to Encourage the Heart【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. ? 1 Peter 4:13

Child of God, do not say that the sun is quenched because the cloud has hidden it. No! It is behind there, preparing summer for you, for when it comes out again, it will have made the clouds ready to drop in April showers, all of them mothers of the sweet May flowers. Above all, when your God hides His face, do not say that He has forgotten you. He is only tarrying a little while to make you love Him better. When He comes, you will have joy in the Lord and will rejoice with joy unspeakable (1 Peter 1:8). Waiting exercises our grace. Waiting tests our faith. Therefore, wait in hope, for although the promise tarries, it can never come too late.

We never have such close dealings with God as when we are in tribulation. When the barn is full, we can live without God. When the safe is bursting with gold, we somehow can do without as much prayer. But once your gourds have been taken away (Jonah 4), you want your God. Once the idols are cleansed away out of the house, then you must go and honor the Lord.

God does not afflict willingly, nor grieve us for nothing, but He does so out of love and affection. He knows that if He leaves us unchastised, we will bring upon ourselves misery ten thousand times greater than we will suffer by His slight rebukes and the gentle blows of His hand. He is admonishing you, not punishing you. He is correcting you in measure, not smiting you in wrath. There is no angry displeasure in His heart. Even though His brow may be ruffled, there is no anger in Him toward you. Even though His eye may have closed upon you, He does not hate you. He still loves you.
- Charles H. The Greatest Fight: Spurgeon's Urgent Message for Pastors, Teachers, and Evangelists【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. ? 1 Corinthians 2:4

If we fight for the Lord Jesus Christ, we must be responsible soldiers and prepare well, although even then, men are not conquered by the glitter of shields, nor by the smoothness of a warrior’s hair, but with a higher power that cuts through their armor.

This book examines three things that are of utmost importance in this fight. The first is our armory, which is the inspired Word of God. The second is our army, the church of the living God, which we must lead under our Lord’s command. The third is our strength, by which we wear the armor and use the sword.

The message in this book, when originally presented by Charles Spurgeon in his final address to his own Pastor's College, was received rapturously and enthusiastically. It was almost immediately published and distributed around the world and in several languages. After Charles Spurgeon's death in 1892, 34,000 copies were printed and distributed to pastors and leaders in England through Mrs. Spurgeon's book fund. It is with great pleasure that we present this updated and very relevant book to the Lord's army of today.

About the Author
Charles Haddon (C. H.) Lectures to My Students: Practical and Spiritual Guidance for Preachers (Volume 3)【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

"The solemn work of Christian ministry demands a man’s all, and that all should be at its best. To engage in ministry halfheartedly is an insult to God and man. Sleep must leave our eyelids before men are allowed to perish. Yet we are all prone to sleep, and students, among the rest, are apt to act the part of the foolish virgins. Therefore, I have sought to speak out my whole soul in the hope that I might not create or foster any dullness in others, and to this end, my lectures are colloquial, familiar, full of anecdote, and often humorous. May He, in whose hand are the churches and their pastors, bless these words to younger brethren in the ministry, and if so, I will count it more than a full reward and will gratefully praise the Lord."
- Charles H. Around the Wicket Gate A Friendly Talk With Seekers Concerning Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ【電子書籍】[ C. H. Spurgeon ]

楽天Kobo電子書籍ストア

This is an invaluable book for people with some learning of the Christian faith, withstanding God's call to dedicate their lives to him. It's meant mainly for those who are seeking God but have not yet decided and are lingering at the Wicket Gate. Spurgeon goes through the various excuses people give for not being devoted to the Lord entirely and tries to convince those standing at the gate to enter and have faith. His love for Christ and his dedication to bringing people to salvation through Christ is prominent throughout the work. Spurgeon's incredibly poetic and detailed description of Christ's sacrifice on the cross adds to the charm of this book. Spurgeon's style of writing this beautiful work is simple, direct, and flawless. His words are wise, and his arguments are genuinely convincing. It wonderfully lays out the power of the gospel to save people and doesn't dilute its message. In addition, this book is filled with illustrations that clarify his point very well.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 300円

The Golden Alphabet: An Exposition of Psalm 119【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

Blessed are those who walk in the perfect way, who walk in the law of the LORD. ? Psalm 119:1

The singular blending of testimony, prayer, and praise in Psalm 119 is admirable. In one verse, the psalmist bears witness; in a second verse, he praises; in a third verse, he prays. It is an incense made up of many spices, but they are wonderfully mixed and worked together to form one perfect sweetness. The blending greatly increases the value of the whole. You would not like to have the first third of the psalm composed of prayer, then second third made up exclusively of praise, and the third portion entirely made of testimony. It is best to have all these divinely sweet ingredients intermixed and worked together into a sacred unity, as you have them in this thrice-hallowed psalm. Its prayers bear witness, and its testimonies are fragrant with praise.

This wonderful psalm, from its great length, helps us to marvel at the immensity of Scripture. As it keeps to the same subject, it helps us adore the unity of Scripture. Yet, from the many turns it brings to that one subject, it helps us see the variety of Scripture. How manifold are the words and thoughts of God! In His Word, just as in creation, the wonders of His skill are displayed in many ways.

About the Author
Charles Haddon (C. H.) The Present Truth: A Collection of Sermons Preached at the Metropolitan Tabernacle【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

Oh, Christians, never be satisfied with being merely saved. Move up! Move on! Go onward to the high mountains, to the clearer light, to the brighter joy! If you are saved and are brought like the shipwrecked mariner to shore, is that enough? Yes, for the moment it is enough to justify the purest satisfaction and the warmest congratulations, but the mariner must seek a livelihood as long as he lives. He must put forth his energy. He must vigorously seek whatever job opportunities open up before him.

Let it be the same with you. Saved from the depths of sin that threatened to swallow you up, rejoice that you are preserved from death, but be determined that the life granted to you will be active, earnest, vigorous, and fruitful in every good work. Be as diligent as the industrious workers are. Notice that they wake up early in the morning. This man rushes to one place, and that man to another. How direct they speak! How quickly they move about! They will go about their business, and they spare no effort to increase it. Oh, that Christians were half as diligent in the service of God!
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 129円

Life in Christ Vol 5: Lessons from Our Lord's Miracles and Parables【電子書籍】[ Charles H. Spurgeon ]

“Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” (Mark 4:41)

Original title: Miracles and Parables of Our Lord.
Volume 5

A deep, inspiring, and often challenging study of the Lord Jesus Christ's miracles and parables.

Men who were led by the hand or groped their way along the wall to reach Jesus were touched by his finger and went home without a guide, rejoicing that Jesus Christ had opened their eyes. Jesus is still able to perform such miracles. And, with the power of the Holy Spirit, his Word will be expounded and we’ll watch for the signs to follow, expecting to see them at once. Why shouldn’t those who read this be blessed with the light of heaven? This is my heart's inmost desire.

I can’t put fine words together. I’ve never studied speech. In fact, my heart loathes the very thought of intentionally speaking with fine words when souls are in danger of eternal punishment. No, I work to speak straight to your hearts and consciences, and if there is anyone with faith to receive, God will bless them with fresh revelation.

? Charles H. Spurgeon

In this fifth volume, Charles H.
