The problem of irrationality is the contradiction between language and logic: linguistic truth is contextual, and logical truth is universal. To solve this problem, we need a modal conception of reality in which everything exists as a combination of three modes (called by various names in Vedic philosophy), but one of these modes is dominant at one time, place, or circumstance, while the others are subordinated. Logic is the change in mode priorities, and contradictory claims can be true, although not simultaneously.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Thus, God, matter, and soul, are three modes, called puru?a, prakriti, and j?v?, and the world is created by their combination, but they cannot be known simultaneously. The soul is known when matter is subordinated, and God is known when the soul is subordinated. Knowledge is complete if three modes are used, consistent if they are not used simultaneously, and rational if logic is the process of mode change. This view of reality reconciles all previous Ved?nta positions as different modes of description; hence Advaita, Vi?i???dvaita, Dvaita, and Bhed?bheda are true, but not simultaneously. So entwirft 'Tim im Kongo' ein solches Raumbild, das in Folge mit dem Begriff 'Kongo' assoziiert wird. Es entstehen Assoziationsketten in jeglichen thematischen Zusammenh?ngen; der Leser verbindet nun m?glicherweise den Begriff 'Kongo' unverz?glich mit jenem, von Herg? mit und durch den Comic entworfenem Raumbild. Der Begriff Raum bedeutet in diesem Zusammenhang 'soziales Konstrukt', und weniger ein durch physische Grenzen definiertes Areal. Im Folgenden soll kritisch betrachtet werden, in welcher Art und Weise der Comic 'Tim im Kongo' Geographie macht. Im R?ckschluss auf seine eigene Aussage kann konstatiert werden, dass Herg? beim Zeichnen seines Comics und somit bei der Produktion des von ihm klar definierten Raumbildes ?ber den Kongo, zun?chst seine eigene Wahrnehmung jenes Raumes zugrunde legt: 'Als ich (...) 'Tim im Kongo' zeichnete, war ich voll von den bourgeoisen Vorurteilen der Zeit, in der ich lebte... 1930 wusste ich nichts von dem Kongo als das, was sich die Leute damals erz?hlten: 'Die Neger sind wie gro?e Kinder... Ein Gl?ck f?r sie, da? es uns gibt', usw. Und nach diesen Kriterien habe ich die Afrikaner gezeichnet, in dem rein paternalistischen Geist, der zu dieser Zeit in Belgien herrschte.' (...) Als Forschungsgegenstand dieser Arbeit sollen nun Wirkung und Wirksamkeit des Geographie-Machens Herg?s - zum Erscheinungszeitpunkt des Comics sowie im heutigen Kontext - ergr?ndet werden. Es soll dabei anhand ausgew?hlter Beispiele die These der rassistischen Darstellung im Comic begr?ndet sowie die Frage nach den Ursachen des Verkaufserfolgs diskutiert werden. Im Anschluss folgt eine Zusammenfassung ?ber m?gliche Gefahren des Geographie-Machens Herg?s sowie die damit im Zusammenhang stehende Reproduktion eines Raumbildes.
