As a result, Neapolitan music reveals an exhaustive and surprising gold mine of new discoveries and small masterpieces. None of these sonatas have ever been recorded before. Flautist Renata Cataldi presents these works on an authentic transverse flute. She is joined by the ensemble Partenope Stravagante, cellist Leonardo Massa, and harpsichordist Debora Capitanio. Renata Cataldi studied at the Licinio Refice in Frosinone and San Pietro a Majella in Naples, and received her Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Bologna. She regularly concertizes as a soloist, in various chamber ensembles, and in orchestra, devoting herself to the modern, Renaissance, and Baroque transverse flute. With the transverse flute, she dedicates herself to the recovery and enhancement of the eighteenth-century Neapolitan musical heritage. She is also the author of essays and articles published for the State Archives of Rome and the Italian Society of Musicology. 4,363円

The work was composed for a Neapolitan confraternity, the Confraternita dei Cavalieri di San Luigi di Palazzo, which had also commissioned a Stabat Mater from Alessandro Scarlatti. Pergolesi composed it during his final illness from tuberculosis in a Franciscan monastery in Pozzuoli, along with a Salve Regina setting, and, as it is said, finished it right before he died. The Stabat Mater is one of Pergolesi's most celebrated sacred works, achieving great popularity after the composer's death. It is performed here by Le Concert de l'Hostel Dieu with Franck-Emmanuel Comte at the organ and as conductor. 4,711円

あめりかん・ぱい
発売日: 2021/6/25輸入盤USレーベル: Brilliant Classics収録曲:コメント:The cello was a beneficiary of the remarkable flowering of high culture sponsored by both ecclesiastical and aristocratic patrons in early 18th-century Naples. In 1717, Rocco Greco (1650-1718) became the last appointed player of the viola da gamba in the Royal Chapel dedicated to the treasure of St Januarius, the patron saint of Naples. Both Greco and his colleague Gaetano Francone (c.1650-1717) produced new music for the cello which was suitable for performance within the liturgy of the chapel. Rather as composers of alternatim organ masses wrote elaborations of chant for the organ to be played between the chanted verses of the liturgy, so Greco composed 11 virtuosic 'diminutions' which were elaborated from the bass part of vocal motets setting Vespers texts. In performing the diminutions, Malagoli prefaces them with a chanted version of the Gregorian antiphon on which the motets were based. The resulting sound is an Italian-accented equivalent to the viol 'divisions' which English composers such as Locke and Simpson were producing at this point. Both lively and melancholic in mood according to the key signature, these brief Diminutions and Passagagli both demand a virtuoso technique from the performer and a degree of imaginative flair in the interpretation of the manuscripts. Matteo Malagoli's world-premiere recordings satisfy both criteria. As a gambist and cellist, Malagoli has explored the history of bass string instruments for several decades, both in solo recitals and as a chamber musician and a continuo accompanist to several renowned Italian early-music groups. He is ideally placed to bring unrivalled authenticity and style to these new discoveries, which place the cello in an unusual context of sacred music and brings two significant Neapolitan composers to light: an essential album for all early-music enthusiasts. The cello was a beneficiary of the remarkable flowering of high culture sponsored by both ecclesiastical and aristocratic patrons in early 18th-century Naples. Antonio Zingarelli, Paolo Altieri, Artist Emanuele Cardi organ, Format 1 CD, From the 17th to 19th centuries Naples was counted among the European capitals of music; traditions of both composition and performance were fostered, supporting a local culture that was hungry for music, and the city's conservatoires started to produce musicians who occupied positions of prestige both in their home city and at the courts and theatres across the continent. Out of the recently founded 'Neapolitan School' came a wealth of celebrated composers as well as the gradual romanticization of the organ, which acquired new 'concert stops' in addition to a complete pedalboard; this release focuses on bringing to light the variety of music that started to be written for the newly improved instrument. As well as including the esteemed names of Pergolesi, Scarlatti and Durante, the recording takes in contemporaries whose music proves no less lively or elegant: from Porpora, particularly famed for his vocal music, to de Majo, from Alitieri to Zingarelli, the latter of whose sonatas reflect the prevalent style gal ante, the lively and brilliant style of the works draws attention to the then dominance of operatic culture across all musical genres. The pieces are performed by keyboardist Emanuele Cardi, a Renaissance and Baroque specialist who also takes an active interest in the restoration of ancient organs. The recording was made in the Church of San Nicola di Bari in Italy, whose 1889 Giuseppe Picardi organ faithfully reflects the stylistic evolution detailed above. Recorded 27-28 January 2013. A fascinating picture of musical life in Naples in the second half of the 18th century. Naples was then one of the musical capitals of Europe, housing a wealth of musicians, composers and an audience hungry for new music. The new style, as introduced by composers like Pergolesi, Scarlatti and Durante was a brilliant mixture of elegance, wit and the innate Italian flair for a good tune. Organist Emanuele Cardi finds the right sunny touch on the historic Giuseppe Picardi Organ (1889) in Bari, Italy. 3,395円

Naples prided itself on being an important school of repertoire for string instruments, emanating from the city's conservatories, the foundries of famous masters and virtuoso students. The Neapolitan interest in string instruments was not only reserved to the violin - here represented by a Violin Concerto by Pergolesi -; great importance was also attached to the cello which in the course of the 17th century gradually became a solo instrument, emancipating itself from a mere basso continuo instrument. The Neapolitan cello literature succeeded in perfecting the technique and developing the expressive and melodic capabilities of the instrument illustrated here by works by Francesco Supriani and Stefano Galeotti. Neapolitan instrumental music had another great protagonist with the recorder. Most composers of the Neapolitan school who wrote for the recorder were primarily opera composers, often transferring the suppleness of the human voice into instrumental writing for this instrument, as Domenico Sarri and Giovanni Battista Mele did. The sonatas and concertos recorded here by Daniela Dolci and her ensemble Musica Fiorita represent a small but important sample of the expressive capabilities of Neapolitan instrumental culture. It shows clearly that Naples was also a centre of compositional creativity, waiting until our times to be discovered, performed and championed. 4,787円

It is precisely in Naples itself that these composers were active, and in their compositions evoked the wonder and spontaneity of melodies that became famous all over the world. On addition to these pieces, we have transcriptions of some of the most famous arias of the eighteenth-century in a colorful mixture of folk music and operatic and theatrical tradition. Born in Turin in 1981, Letizia Belmondo began to study harp at the age of eight at the Suzuki Talent Center in Turin. She continued her studies at the G Verdi Conservatory in Turin, and later the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon as well as The Juilliard School. In 2001, Belmondo won first prize at the prestigious International Harp Contest in Israel, as well as the Ester Herlitz Prize awarded for the best performance of a contemporary piece. She has gone on to win numerous other competitions and prizes, including the International Harp Competition in Lausanne and special prize for the best performance of the Prelude by Jolivet. She is currently Professor of Harp at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne. 4,356円
